Hello everyone. I posted earlier asking about the pros or cons of shot blasting my new shop floor for epoxy paint. I did go ahead and rent a small 8" shot blaster which worked quite well removing laitance and other contaminants from the concrete floor. The Shot Blaster cost more than a grinder 350 vs 200 but was completely dustless and did a nice fine profile. I have attached a few pictures.

Shotblasters when used with the proper vac are very low/no dust solutions for prep.

Sorry for the long time to respond. Yes the blaster did a very nice job. I have now put down a roll on epoxy floor using a Interlux l70% solids epoxy. Looks good but not as good as the full 100% solids epoxy with the flakes. Since I am welding and grinding I know it will get damaged. Touch up should be easy.

When I had an epoxy floor I found a sheet of stainless for $200 and put it down under my welding bench. Worked great and even looked pretty good.
