I've been looking for a box for awhile now, current box is overflowing with tools. I was on the truck today getting some tools I needed for a project. My driver showse a krl722 he took on in trade and says he'll give to me for $2200. Told him I would like it but it would take me a couple weeks get that kind of cash together. He says no problem open a credit account, after I inquire about terms and rates. I say okay do a pull on my credit, a few minutes later he says you're approved. No prepayment penalty, balloon payment, and it's more of installment loan that revolving account. The terms were better than some of past credit cards. I don't earn my money with my tools but it seems lately that I working on someone's bike every weekend. I'm thinking about going with financing, so I can keep my cash reserve or should I buy it outright.

If you don't wrench professionally then I would suggest not. If you really want snap on then look around on craigslist, you never know what you might find. What box do you own now? Also do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior the :bowdown::bowdown: hf 44. Jokes aside, the us general boxes are nice for the money and should serve you just fine.

To answer your first question....Hell yeah you should buy it lol. $2200 is a good price, especially if it's in good condition. As far as buying outright or financing, as long as the terms our good I'd finance and hang on to my reserve.

I'm guessing you left out . . . . "More To The Story" . . . . . the $2200 for Snappy tool box is AFTER you also give him your current tool box . . . right ??

What tool box you have NOW that you are giving him in trade ?? What's it worth??

KRL722 is a great box.

$2200 is a fair price depending on condition. There are better deals out there if you're willing to wait. See if the dealer will take $2000, or if he'll throw in a set of wrenches.

Funny how everyone is making this sound like some killer deal. Every year my snap on guy would return from their annual national convention with a few of these boxes in black. He offered me one, brand new, for 2500.

If your going to pay cash, hit up Craig's list for a real deal. I've seen classic series boxes for a grand. Only reason to buy from snap on is financing.

So if your not doing this professionally, you don't actually NEED it. It's a want situation. If you have the money to play with, by all means, but from what I'm getting at, it doesn't sound like you do.

You can grab a real nice box from h.f. and still have enough money for a real toy like a motorcycle. When I bought my matco box for a mere 1k for work, the novelty wore off in a week. It's just a glorified file cabinet.

What always keeps me in check is co worker's boxes worth more than their daily driver cars.

2200 is that after the ec rebate?
Yes that is the final price with taxes it more like $2200 and change.

The box is a trade in at 2 years old, the thing looks brand new and the color is orange. I'm not trading in anything. I'm currently stealing space from my son's krsc46, he has the top and I have all the drawers. Although the HF is a good box the depth is a deal breaker and I have limited foot print. I will say that I have a lot of specialized KTM tools that I want to keep in one place and I think a box like this will be good start for getting me organized.

I should mention that CL in my area is a joke and just like most pawn shops everyone want's retail or more, I like a getting deals but they are just not to be had here. If I'm going to be spending that kind of coin I would like to do business with some that has treated me right over the last couple of years.

As far as toys, there is a KTM 450 xcw, Yamaha 400 big bear, and 650 v-strom, these are the ones that need to go. When one of these sell I'll pay off the box, if I decide to finance.

The price is within my means, I guess I just feel conflicted on the financing, because the cash reserve is for scooping up a bike for deal. As soon as I spend it, that holy grail bike comes along and I can't make a play on it.

Thank you all for you input.

I sold both of my KRL722's on Craigslist for $1900. I think $2200 is a decent deal for one delivered to your house.
