First I have been a long time lurker, but first time poster. :)

I have been watching Craigslist for a deal on Snap on box. Well I located this one. It's a 1986 KR557F. He said it's in decent shape but does have some paint wear. He said the drawers work well and have all new sliders. He just had them warrantied. He also has the key for it.

He wants $320 for it and he's firm at that price. What do you guys think? Grab it? I imagine this is a decent deal.

Yes, take cash and grab it. Fair price for the value.

I'd throughly check it out before purchase. That is towards if not top dollar for that unit in that condtion. It is an all friction slide box, lots of dividers, 33" wide, ~3400in^2 storage space. Even though the slides are new check the wear on the acutal slide channels, those wear as well and when they go it is extremely laborous to repair/replace them. Unless you NEED or really want THAT box, I wouldn't jump. Just my 2 cents. Now if it was a KR657, that would be a different story.

I am going to agree that is a bit at the top of the dollar value for the condition.
I have bough a couple of those at the $200 to $250 range

If you want it, or need it, it is worth what you are willing to pay, Take cold green cash with you, most people will deal a little bit, But if he is truly firm, pay what you are willing to pay, You are the only one that can say you got a good deal or not. Your shop, your money. Be happy and get what makes you happy. Rich
