Should I buy this lift?

After many years of working on my back in, and often out of, an overcrowded garage, I'm finally getting the garage of my dreams, complete with a 2 post lift.

After much research on what lift to buy I settlers on a 9000lb 2 post Atlas lift from Greg Smith Equipment, which has a location less than an hour from my house. I choose this lift because of the good reviews I've read, I know a friend who has had one for 10 years, and it fits my budget.

The yesterday I was browsing Craig's List and find a 10,000lb Bend-Pak XPR-10AS 2 post lift for sale for $2500. Though it's 10 years old, it's NEVER been installed and they have all the hardware, instructions, etc. story on it is that the shop that has it bought it for an expansion that never happened. It's still banded and wrapped like they originally received it except for the power unit, which they used for a month last year when one of their other lifts went down.

So...... asking for opinions on whether I should jump on this deal.

Congratulations! That's a great deal and I'm glad you jumped on it right away. Good deals on lifts disappear in a few hours in my area.

Awesome deal. I picked up the same lift for $1800 used in my local area. Believe it was the extra tall or wide version. Got it for a buddy since I already had one. He's had zero problems with it and loves it.

Congrats on the craigslist score! $2k is a great deal.

Even though its basically NOS, take a good hard look at the hydraulic hoses when you open up the packaging. 10 years is a long time for hoses to sit coiled up, so when they're uncoiled they could probably develop cracking. If there is even a hint of a crack, replace them now.

Bendpak 10k lifts have been great in my experience with them. Basically 1k off the price tag is a pretty good deal....I would suggest just going ahead with new hoses while you are doing the install.
