Should I Buy This?

I've been looking around for a floor standing drill press, and I found one in the area for sale. It's a 1hp, 20" Dayton that the guy is asking $200 for. While I'd love to have Alzmetall or something but hey. Anyway, anyone have experience with a 20" Dayton? I've heard mixed opinions about Dayton. Should I pick her up?

I've always had luck with Dayton - albeit older dayton.

Good deal, but sounds like you are going to need a new torsion spring for the downfeed handle.

For that size unit if it is in operating and/or good shape then I say that's a very fair price

Yep, around here a working 20" 1HP for $200 is almost unheard of (you'd have to wait a long time to see one).
