Supercombo!! These are absolutely equal to the flankdrive plus for less than half the price. My local snapon guy wanted to sell me the bluepoint wrenches, there fine, but not for that price! If you have to buy off the snapon truck get'm to order you the williams, my 10-19mm set was $105(4-5 years ago).a whole lot more quality than blue point for probly less money.

well I appreciate everyones help and input! I was on the snap on truck last week and my guy said in about 2 weeks they have a promo on where i buy the metric set and get the sae for free and there flank drive plus! so I guess i'm getting that lol. :rocker:

They're very good wrenches; no doubt about that, but they do bite into the fastener and they can get caught on the corner of the nut as you're pulling away from it. They're not as quick to engage and disengage as the regular open ends are. Just so you know.

You can get a full set of Supercombo's full polish 7-24mm MWS-18A from MRO Centre for $224.36 which is a very good deal.

As someone said,,, he has a good set but the ones he uses and beats on are some junk, why bother since its obvious price is a concern, money is already an issue but have enough burning a hole in the pocket for a 300$ set of end wrenches. As was pointed out there are options as good at half the price and if it was me and really needed something I already didn't have (does what you currently own work satisfactory) the 30 piece Canadian deal looks like a winner since about 1/2 of them a guy doesn't really use anyway.
But strolling thru a flea market on a day you took off of work would pay about twice back the first day over spending some obscene amount for something you probably don't need,,, not that you wouldn't use them but chances are an option costing 10% would perform just fine.

If you really need something buy it, I still occasionally buy a few hand tools. Rarely a set anymore, last one was ratchet wrenches but pliers, occasional replacement or additional sockets when I get the feeling we are looking for something. I don't need every one but a couple heavy duty China 9/16 impact sockets tossed in to the general circulation pool will get used.

Sets are a way to keep track, they really do not follow tool use. With a few exceptions, such as maybe a engine reman removal install operation could really put the pressure on as could a tool pool in a heavy duty truck or farm shop where the use is brutal. Here we got a guy with sissy hands wondering if his tools will be up to the task and maybe only some truck brand might suffice, and the op cant afford it.

Its about like the advice about the ball joint press, a home dude with 1 project to start with should get a 400 dollar set,,, he could rent one but the right thing was to march right down to HF and score that 40$ set, will make him money on the first job, still have it when finished and it has dozens of uses, the 400 might be fine for someone in the front end service business owned by the shop but its pitiful advice for the guy asking the question.

Having said that when I had a couple bucks I bought small 6 piece snappy FD, wouldn't mind one in 5/16 and replaced a lost one or 2, they been great, I keep a better eye on them and save them for rugged use, I put all the wear and tear on the junk. Would trade a 3/4 and a 5/8 for a 1/2 and 9 or maybe even the baby 5/16.
These were bought when I could afford it and our demand was high.

Buy a dew specialty things you really fo need at your work, forget about the rest of the sets, if you really need it spend the 40 at Canadian tire but if I found myself lacking in a specific area or needed 2 wouldnt be past me to score a piece or 2 at a time or off the shelf at Walmart,, wonserful sets of stuff under 20$ most of them. Allen bits, Torx sets etc, no looking, 24 hrs a day.

I saw 5 gallon bucket of hy trans fluid at a Walmart the other day, had a great price on it,,, thought that would be great after hours etc.
