I see this come up sometimes - "Should I insulate, I'm not out there much..." etc. So here's a demo of how a little goes a long way. Ceiling is minimal R13 batts laid in after construction, so no real "vapor barrier" formed by stapling to joists. Also, part of the ceiling is open for over lift mods so insulation has been removed. The part that is open to the roof deck is readily apparent, while the rest still tries to trap residual heat in the building. So in my view "any" insulation is better than none. Also, there is no heat on in the building. I did run the little 5kW heater some this last week to keep the main area around 65 and on days we had frost the effect was way more pronounced.
