Hi Everyone,

I'm starting the process of insulation and finishing up my shop (30x24). There is already a sub panel in it with conduit ran along the bottom of the trusses for the lights. Additionally, I have four outlets, again ran with conduit.

I want to finish the ceiling with 7/16 OSB, so my question is, because the conduit is on the bottom of the trusses am I going to have scrap it all and start over? Seems like a waste but I don't know if I could lower the conduit down slightly, put my OSB up and then put the conduit back up. That might be more of a hassle than it's worth, not sure as I've never done this before. Since I'm going to add outlets I'm going to be doing some wiring anyway.

Just wondering if anyone else ran into this and how they handled it, hoping some of the experts here can help me out! Thank you!

You should be able to undo it a bit at a time and slide OSB behind it. With conduit, it is easy to expand later. I wish I had run conduit instead of going in the walls.

Ya with how it's ran you won't have any issues doing that. Just do as strouty suggested and only take as much loose at a time that you need to sheet under it.

1) That's not a great spot to store your beer.
2) I can help. Let me know when you plan to start and I can get that boat out of your way for the weekend. :)

Shawn, sadly I'm thinking about selling it, not much time for fishing anymore!

Personally I would go thru the trouble to put the EMT above the bottom chord, you could still run it into the octagon (?) boxes. Its a bit more new wire but the EMT will always be there. Then you'd have a clean ceiling to start.

Easy way is to sneak the osb under the conduit.

BUT, id put the emt behind the OSB- way cleaner look. Doesnt need to be super-precise, just bend some 90s and let it fly. Nail some 2x if you need to affix the emt to supports.

To be honest, its prolly a push between tossing in a few pieces off EMT and struggling with sliding 4x8 sheets behind ...
