ok so I have a 24x36 monoslope shop low ceiling starts@7ft runs to 12ft. have the 4 ft shop lights which really aren't brite...but I do buy the cheapest bulbs Lowes sells is there a brighter bulbs I should invest in?I have a box of the porch light type fixtures you know just round and hold the bulb I'm wondering if I should run those as I went nuts awhile back&bought over 2000 lite bulbs.I don't want to invest a lot more money in Llighting as were hoping to have a bigger shop built at the end of the year if I have a good season.I paint & do bodywork for a living so light is very important to me. I take stand up work lights and they work well but they get in the way.Hopefully I'm just being cheap with the bulbs and that will solve it.I figured Id come ask you die hard shop guys. Thanks

Yes, you're just being cheap with the bulbs. Buying higher light output and/or different color temperature will be a HUGE improvement.

Even if you use some of those 2000 individual sockets and bulbs, you'll be out the expense of wiring and hardware as well as the time spent doing it.

I second or third the idea of finding a lighting calculator. Some will describe what conditions = what type of bulbs. Then you plug in your dimensions and presto, you get a pretty good idea of how many fixtures, what bulbs, and what spacing to hang or install them.
