So I'm looking at getting a new SO KRL1022 box to replace my KRA4813 which is full. I've had a few recent purchases in cases (timing light, electronic testers) that I've had to store under my work bench because there is absolutely no room in my box. Also other stuff like have some wrench sets in separate drawers from my other wrenches and impact sockets away from chrome sockets is starting to annoying me.

So I priced up a KRL1022 with the SO guy today, price to me would be $12,151NZD ($8,400USD) which is clearly a shed load of money for a empty box. Payments on SO finance would be $150p/w ($122usd) Keep in mind I'm in down under in New Zealand where the equivalent of ebay or craiglists has a fairly non existent used snap on box market, on account of the smaller population is my bet. I'm reasonably set on getting a KRL box as I don't want to buy another and they are a good base to expand on if I need to. Plus, my KRA is red and orange is my color that i'd be getting one in.

My SO guy is a SO employee so I think that means he isn't going to be able to give me as good of a deal a franchisee would be able too.

I'm thinking I might have to get me a reasonably sized roll around car that will give me a bit of storage in the mean time.

Thoughts GJ?

Get a decent sized cheap cart and pull a GOOD subset of most used tools out of the main box, but leave room in the cart to add items needed for a specific job out of the main box.

Get a side cabinet(s) for the main box and put stuff in there.

Save your money until you have a GOOD portion of needed expense. Big payments are just asking for trouble with the economy the world has.

I don't know if this helps, but you could try a krsc46 cart (7 drawers) and make most of your tools more mobile... Save your kra for rarely used and/or large items...

Thanks for comments guys, I ended up asking my SO guy about the KRSC326, Sadly not available in here in Nz cause they are new and SO don't care much about serving the Australasia market.

Back to the drawing board

I have a friend in Australia that ships cars and parts from the states to Australia. I can ask if he would want to do a deal with you to put it in one of his containers

Probably worth investigating, would still need to get it to nz and have someone in the us buy it though
