I can't believe that it was posted 10 days ago. Is the casting broken? Or some other malfunction? It would be gone in a day around here.

Email is the only
Way to contact this person. I think that's why it's lasted. Or it's sold already.

don't blame the "free" Craigslist service because if we didn't have it we be back to buying from friends or garage sales and hoping to find something we can use.

that said those kind of deals are usually listed by our older generation that barely knows how to turn on a computer. so probably sold or sometimes they figure out how to return an email.

don't give up, but you have to be quick for those deals and ready to run when they do get back to you.

good luck

Get it yet?

I'm not even a Wilton fan but I'd do some drivin' to go pick that up at that price. Bring her home bud!

No news yet but even though I'm only in town one night I have some buddies on stand by to pick it up for me if I hear back.

Yeah I know I actually love CL. It just seems like this type of stuff always happens when I find a deal.

don't feel like the lone ranger because it happens to all of us.

just keep trying and you'll have success to match the ones you didn't get.

Looks like the jaw pad on the static jaw is now permanent, like welded on? For $40, you can't go wrong, the base alone is worth that to someone needing it but do look it over good if you get the chance.

after a closer look i see what Nines sees, but not sure if paint or a weld so hope your buddy checks it out good. can he pull out the dynamic jaw all the way to check it out better?

as far as i can tell you have a 1940's or early 1950's made Wilton bullet and for $40 you might like it a lot.

cheers

I think I see what you all are talking about. The guy going to check it out is a member here also. So I trust his judgement. I told him see if he can get it for $30. I know I'm being greedy. Lol

don't quibble over $10 and piss him off because he might have 100 emails by now and maybe better offers than the $40. pay the $40 if it's in good shape and if it's got damage or been welded then either walk away or negotiate.

good luck

X2.....if I had a nickle for every time I see this on here I would not have to scrounge the limited pickings up here on our very limited CL listings! The base alone is worth the 40.....for me....no seriously!

congrats on the Wilton purchase and sorry to hear it had a break and weld. it looks like maybe it was done correctly so you can still use the vise and for the price you paid it could be a parts vise for a nicer one you might find later that is just missing something.

yes pictures when you get a chance because i think the Craigs ad will expire and there won't be one picture of the vise on this thread for future readers to see.

I think it'll still function just fine. We will see. Between this and the Yost I'm going to try and get and restore. I have some reading up to do.

I'll post a couple teaser pics of the vise I picked up for my buddy. The weld looks pretty good to me and the jaws line up pretty much dead on so I think someone took their time and did a good job.
