Hey all, I just want to relate a happy story of working with our friends at Cripe Distributing. If you haven't read about them here before, Cripe is a retailer out of Boise, with merchandise listed on their own website www.cripedistributing.com, and also on eBay. The selection can be hit or miss, but the prices are unbelievable and the service is top notch.

About a month ago, I won an eBay auction (not from Cripe -- actually from a pawn shop in southern California, I believe), a set of lightly-used KD wrenches -- six-point box ends! neat! -- with just one size missing in the middle. I went looking for the missing wrench, and luckily I found it at Cripe. This made me happy. I've read good things about them here, I did an order with them back around Thanksgiving when they had a Black Friday sale, and everything has always been very positive.

The unique thing with Cripe is shipping. Their prices are super low, like frequently lower than you would see on Amazon Warehouse, and they have some large and heavy things, so they don't offer a free shipping threshold. Instead, they are super transparent about their shipping costs, and they will work with you if you want to know exactly what the shipping cost will be in advance.

Honestly it's impressive. It must be a lot of manual work. I know for sure that it was in my case. After they figured out my shipping the first time, I decided to make a bunch of changes and asked them to hold off (and then we had a snow storm here in Boston...), basically it was a lot of back and forth over a long period. Through all of it, they were super accommodating and responsive, and made me feel very well taken care of.

Thanks Ron and Bree for treating small orders like big orders and helping me to stretch my dollar! You guys are the best!

Yeah I've always been happy with Cripe. I usually buy $20-$30 worth of misc. consumables and assorted tools at least once a year off them. Super low cost shipping, and it's well packed.

Probably better in vendor reviews, eh?

Ah, you're totally right. I didn't realize there was a forum for that.

Hopefully the mods can move it there soon. :\

I bought from them when they were in San Diego CA, always good people.
They got smart and left CA. So did I.

I've had several good experiences with Cripe. Recentlt, I made a mistake on a ebay order from them and they very kindly cancelled and refunded it for me. They didn't really have to do it, but they gave me no trouble at all. I need to make another order with them soon.

Thanks for sharing your feedback! I don't think I've dealt with them yet, though I know the name. I'll have to take a closer look and see what they got!

I too have had a good experience on an item that I received defective from them and the return and refund were prompt.

Next to HJE they're two of the most reputable online tool distributors. I order more from Cripe because HJE's shipping charges usually make them more expensive than others. Cripe is a great place to buy dying Armstrong tools brand new.

Still kinda stinks though that Armstrong is closing it doors :( Always liked their quality followed by Proto.

cripe is great. highly recommend. if you want stuff off of ebay and their online store (which dont always match listings, although they always have the same pricing, which is not always true of other retailers) put what you want on the online site, and email them with a list of stuff you want off of ebay. they will add them to your cart, and quote you the whole shooting match with shipping.

the only time i ever got the wrong item from them they sent me a shipping label to return what i got, and sent me the correct one without issue.

Cripe is great. I like it when you find someone honest on ebay, it's rare just to get a reply nowadays. Ordering through their ebay store is a little cheaper but they usually send me a % off code for the website and some items are cheaper there after shipping and the code.

If the difference is small I buy through their site rather than ebay, I'm sure they keep more of their profits not having to share with ebay.
