Trying to get an idea how two identical 33"-41" toolboxes look side by side and I'd like to see real photos of this set up. I know I've seen some in various threads, but it's not really something that's easily searchable. I'm close to deciding on two identical smaller boxes side by side instead of one longer box so I would appreciate anyone posting photos of their set up.

Thanks

Very cool, so you basically have a 82" toolbox and a huge work surface, looks GREAT. Thanks, keep 'em coming.

Technically, the HF boxes pictured above are 42-1/8" long without handle, making them longer that what the OP requested.
They are advertised as 44", had no idea that included the handle. Interesting.

And that's my bad, I welcome 42"+ boxes too, as long as they aren;t like 50"+, this is just to give me an idea.

I have a long back wall, so I lined three of them up along with two side boxes.

That's awesome, tons of drawers. Like one of my friends mentioned, I prefer only a few longer drawers and more shorter ones because I have a lot of tools I don;t really want grouped together in one long drawer.

The neat thing about the US General boxes are that the drawers are modular. I was planning on using all of my double deep drawers on one end box. (the track spacing is the same) I ended up organizing them differently, but I had that option if I wanted to.

Glad to hear confirmation of the HF drawers being interchangeable. I checked with HF parts department and new individual drawers can also be ordered, if you needed more shallow or more deep drawers in combination. I was surprised that the drawers were relatively cheap, but an order would require about 6 weeks to ship from China.

I'll try to get a pic. 2 upper & lower 41 inchers with the tall cabinet in between. One of the uppers is a Husky box that matches the new finish. Both HF bottoms are older wringle finish.

That's cool, too bad I really don't want red or I would've snatched those up already. Saw them in person a while ago, decent box, especially for the money, and they show really nice too.

Those HF boxes look deeper than 18.5", guess it depends on what angle photos are taken because the Viper boxes I'm looking at didn't look 18.25" deep, but they are.

Sure, but I was looking for lower rollers only really, was trying to get an idea how side by side boxes looked, depth, proportion..etc

probably not exactly what you were thinking about,
but they are 33" wide :dunno:

I am curious, did you attach the intermediate ones on both sides to the boxes? was anything particularly good or bad involving putting them all together like that?

The side boxes just hang on the side of the 44"s, they have a lip that allows them to hook/attach.

OK, Woodrail that is pretty nice. I like the bin cart stored out of the way like that. I was trying to figure out what to do with a 18 inch space I have between benches where I need a partial wall to separate them. This is it.

Real nice setup Woodrail.

Rockuf8, I'm also looking at the Viper in white. Mind sharing how long to get them and how much?

Viper said 6 days. $1,306 for both shipped, it's a sale price that ended 8 days ago, they were nice enough to honor the old sale price ($475 each), shipping was a killer at $356, still much cheaper than anywhere else, Amazon has the same white boxes for $775 each.

I ordered just two bottom rollers, won't have room for the tops with the wall cabinet layout I plan on having. Not sure if you saw my other thread, I'm going to powdercoat the drawer pulls gloss white, and the side handles and pcoat the caster forks/locks black. I did a photoshop rendering of how the smaller rollers will look below. I'll have white cabinets and a 8' white Gladiator tool bench.

Then picked up two white 26" 5 drawer Vipers on sale from Sears for just $272 w/ FREE pick up, paying with a Sears cards saves you another 5%. So I'll have 28 drawers of storage for around $1,800, and from what I have heard the Vipers are better quality than HF, CM, Kobalt..etc.

Here's my dual 41" boxes. I like it but could really use at least one wider drawer, would like to be able to store some 48" levels, breaker bars, etc..

I can store 36" stuff in the top lid, but I have to find somewhere else for the 4' stuff to go.

Dual 41" is a very cost effective way to get alot of drawers, but a 56" or better does have it's benefits, but then again a single 56" typically cost more than two 41" boxes.

They should come in handy even though they're not terribly deep. I don't stand up my sockets so it won't pose an issue.

I've been seeing posts about the HF 44" boxes beeing a better deal for the money. After checking, I'm not ready to agree considering the numbers per cu. in. With the 44's at even $359 each x2 =$718 and the 56's at $799.
44" 11,528 cubic inches storage capacity X2 + 23056 cu. in @ $718 = $ 0.03114157 per cu. in

56" 28,240 cubic inches storage capacity X1 @ $799 = $ 0.0282932 per cu. in.

2 boxes does look cooler, but I think the single is a better deal...

To get approx the same amount of storage as the 56" it would slightly be a better deal than [3] 26" Vipers.

26" 9,300 cu in x 3 = 27,900 cu in @ 816 = $0.02924731 but you wouldn't have to settle for a red box with ugly red wheels lol.
