show me your rack, as in tire rack!

i figured this is a fab question.

im running out of floor space. would really like to get tires off the ground. as it is now, i have some stored using the bucket method covered in bags, some on their sides, etc etc.

at any given time i have about 12 to 30 wheels with tires. between drag slicks, rally tires, street tires, track tires, winter wheels etc--it adds up quickly. And that's just me. I have 3 friends who store and work on their cars in my garage too. they have multiple sets of wheels stacked up all around the place.

i have a few ideals in my head already using wood or black pipe. in addition, i just used the search function and browsed at 6 pages of results that came up for "tire rack". again, some more ideals were sparked in my head--like using a combination of wood, iron pipe for front bar, and chain to support weight from ceiling.

so if you have some pictures, please post them up so i may look at them to gain some ideals. Hope to make this my anti go out and get drunk the night before thanksgiving project!

thanks

mike

scrap wood and 20 minutes to use an otherwise empty space...

Nothing grand, for sure. I've got about 60+ tires for different cars that I end up stacking elsewhere just because of the lack of space. This is the "upcoming tire change" spot, if I know I'll be going to an event (hpde/autoX/rallyX/ice race/put on snowtires/etc.) in the next couple of weeks, I'll store'em there so I can mount/change them with minimal fuss when needed.

This is what I did to store all my sets of wheels for future projects.

I was building shelves and finally got around to tire racks, had them sitting all over and it was a pain sorting thru them all the time. Took myself and my helper a bit over half a day with scrap pipe.
