Can't find a photo of it anywhere online, but...
In the Boston, Ma area, there was a guy who fabricated a custom side-car for his bike where the seat was a bar stool. additionally, the bar stool rider could belt themselves in.

The purpose of this was to allow a cameraman to ride while rear-facing and film the front-running pack during the Boston Marathon. The guy used to be a fixture, but I haven't seen him in years now.

I pulled this out of someones trash pile 20yrs ago. It was originally grey, but I painted it red to match my roadboxes so I could spot the guy trying to run off with it from across the convention hall.
(yes-that's a fallout shelter sign on the shop door. It leads outside  )

I have two. One is more-comfortable, and rotates. The other is fixed, which makes it the better choice when I need something to stand on to reach my higher cabinets.

Big pictures.

Somewhere, there's a DOMA Ruling joke in here...

But seriously folks...

I'm making one right now--it's a tractor seat, with an early Ford axle housing "bell" (half an axle housing, that bolted to the center section), mounted to an early Chevy spoke wheel (the flange of the bell fits the center opening on the Chevy wheel... a Ford wheel was too small and the bell hung over the sides).

I've got it started, but other things are taking priority.
I won't put wheels on the bottom of it, but I think I'm going to figure out a way to make the seat swivel. Shouldn't be too hard to do... An old axle, wheel bearing and axle flange from a different rear end will do the job, if I can't find something else.

I picked these 3 up for $200. Perfect condition. They are in my house until I move and build a climate controlled shop....They'll suffer an untimely death in the heat if used in my current shop.

Here's mine. Actually, my wife claims it as hers when she visits me in the shop.
