Show me your work bench

I need to get a work bench going at some point at the new house. I've been using a rolling toolbox with wooden top, and a folding table I stole from my mom. While they work (kinda), a real bench is in order.

Would prefer steel top, as I would like it to serve as a welding table as well. However, I'm not opposed to a multiple bench setup either if going wood for 1 and steel for the other.

I'm a visual learner, I like pictures. If you built yours and have build pics, that would be fantastic. Thanks as always.

I use a wood workerd bench with the wood vise and a wilton bullet vise. Wood vise is great for stuff you don’t want to scratch

About 5 years ago, I acquired some sets of NOS steel conveyor belt legs. I decided that there was a market for small, high quality work benches. I was able to buy old, solid wood desks for the tops.

I custom built the desks to the customer's specifications. They sold very well. I'm certain that they're all going strong, as I regularly see the one my neighbor bought.

My basement workbench was finished recently, if I had outside stairs I'd have gone bigger but having to drag it through the kitchen and 2 90* stairways just made bigger a nuisance. Also isn't my house so not meant to be permanent. The pegboard has since been filled with a derailleur alignment gauge and headset press. Also have to find a better wrench system as this one ***** pretty bad.

Woodshop mostly consists of a HF workbench which is ok, really need smaller due to the small space that a single bay garage has when there are larger tools in it.

Use Google search - works a lot better. Type in the following in the search bar (omitting the ""):

This one was made for an 8' wide shop. It's stationery as there is no room to move a mobile table type around. Many of my tools are bayonet or receiver hitch mounted so the bench has female receiver tubes every 12" on center. This also allows me to insert 4' long lengths of tubing into the receivers and extend the bench surface out 24" into the isle which makes the bench about 4' wide.

I've since added another 4' onto the end of this bench to make it about 11' long. It's 24" wide. There are 1/2"x13 threaded nuts in the slots you see on the steel top. A second layer of steel is laid on top which makes the top solid so nothing falls down the slots. I have to remove the top layer of steel if I want to use the hold downs which I haven't had to use yet. I'd be happier with a 1/2" or 5/8" steel top on it.

Here it is with the extra section added making it 11' long and with some extension tubes inserted making it possible to work in the isle. This has been incredibly handy as it allows much larger work to be done at bench height. -

1940's solid oak office desk that was being thrown out. I took it home and screwed a 3/4" piece of plywood to the top and have been using it as a work bench for over 35 years. Very sturdy and stable. Restoring a couple vises right now.

I haven't been able to figure that out, I liked the house that came with it. When I was house shopping, it seemed like OSB was used in all kinds of places it shouldn't be, in my town. My guess is that, there were a couple OSB mills in the area, so it was cheap.
