Damn Monte, that's quite the collection! How are the Hazet air tools? Are they really good?

Monte, does Hazet actually make any of their air tools or are they just oem "rebadged" from other companies? I too would like to know if they are any good as well; are German air tools, generally good (I noticed that you have chosen CP/IR two very good, well established, known, respected, USA based companies)? Also, does Hazet offer repair and or flat fees for these types of tools that need ongoing support and repair?

they are ok, the nibbler works witout complaints, the grinders get stuck sometimes, then you have to move the collet/spindle and then it turns again. Not very powerful, but get the job done. Standard quality i would say ?

They buy their air tools somewhere. Paint guns are from Germany, but most other items seem to be from Taiwan. If you look at the Hazet nibbler for example:

it looks like this one from Gison (www.gison.com.tw) , at least the rubber "boot" and the head looks identical (?) , the lever is different though.

so it seems there are like 2 or 3 taiwanese manufacturers whose tools are sold through name brand "manufacturers" from germany and other parts of the world....

or "Aircraft"...

The IR (chinese) and CP (Japanese) Air tools work without problems so far. These brands are common over here, more common are the german brands "Pneutec" and "Rodcraft" though (Both no manufacturers, just importers (China, Taiwan, Japan)). There are german manufacturers but mostly only with a limited, specialised offering (chisel hammers or air saws etc.) at very high prices (die grinder $400.....) for the industry.
"Maintance" grade air tools for like below $100 or 200 are not made here, only "production" type tools, except Bosch has some german made air tools (drills, chisel hammer, needle scaler, grinders) for acceptable prices (starting about $150.-). So i think what still is made here will be good because it´s made for production work/assembly line etc. which should exceed any regular 100 or 200 $ tool simply because of what the tools are made for, like Dotco brand or the CP production impact guns for 2000 bucks or Yokota /Toku Impulse wrenches, Atlas Copco $800.- die grinders etc. etc.... i think for the price the cheaper tools are ok, but i believe there are better ones available (Dynabrade etc..) which are more powerful, come with motors which don´t stall ("Turbine grinders"), with more torque etc. (and more air consumption...)


Hazet has a service center at their factory where they maintain and repair the air tools and torque wrenches etc. I dont know what they charge though. Shipping is for free and they repair everything within 5 days they advertise.
