Started off with an RD350 basket case.

Using parts from about 8 random other bikes, turned it into a sort of rat cafe racer.

Yup, '91 400. I love(d) that bike. It was my first one and I sold it to buy a race kart. Also back there is the GF's 72 CB350T.

Wow ! I'm impressed at some of the talent on here and the custom paint is very nice work. Here is my contribution and in contrast to the custom painted bikes this one has NO paint. I built it a few years ago in my old garage in NH but have since moved to East Tennessee & need to build a new shop before I can tackle any new projects. It started out as a basket case 1969 Triumph TR6C 650 and all I had to begin with from the original bike was the engine cases & the frame. I had been buying & selling vintage Triumph stuff for many years so I used up alot of the non stock chrome plated stuff I had laying around as well as fabricated some alloy parts. The frame & some of the engine mounting plates, etc were powdercoated Silver. Wheels are stock Triumph hubs laced to Akront Aluminum rims with stainless spokes from Buchannons. Front forks are some chrome plated lower legs left over from a chopper I had parted out along with new tubes & seal holders & powdercoated triple trees. Rear shocks & swingarm were some chrome parts left over from yet another bike I parted out years before. Tank is a new alloy tank from British Cycle Supply as well as the cafe type seat. Fenders (not installed in the pics) were stock style but made of Aluminum. Engine has a Sonny Routt 750 big bore kit, Joe Hunt magneto, Megacycle cams & a late 5 speed gearbox installed in the stock engine cases. I had it finished to the point of needing final assembly & wiring when I got a silly offer from a friend in Oregon and sold it unfinished. Shipped it to him & he did the last of it. My only regret is that I never got to ride it.

A Norton 750 Commando is what my dad and I have been working on for the past year. Stripped her down to nothing and we're just about to start reassembly, just waiting for some parts to get in.

A "before" shot, and one of the engine after we rebuilt it.

Here are my bikes...

The Suzuki's suspension is off to get re-valved, and the radiator is getting welded and straightened after I got kamikaze'd by another rider last time I was at the track...

The Yamaha's transmission grenaded on me, and the swingarm bearings seized up so bad that they spun in the swingarm. I'm waiting for an Ebay replacement swingarm to get it back to a rolling chassis. The cases are getting split this week hopefully so I can find out what came apart!

Here is are some pictures of my 77 GL1000 Goldwing. I like the naked wings and this is my first bike project. I have restored some muscle cars and I painted this bike to match my 67 Camaro. I put low rise bars on it and painted the main part of the bike balero red and the top of the tank area flat black. These bikes are a lot of fun to tinker on and ride. I added a picture of the car for color comparison. I don't have any pictures of them together yet, I really need to do that.

My stuff is a little different than most - its old, I mean really old. Here's one I did a good number of years ago. Its a 1916 Indian "Powerplus". 74" v-twin. It had been in a New Jersey basement from 1926 until the late 1990s when I got it. Went through the motor top end, trans, clutch brakes, cleaned and sealed the tank and put new tires on it. Its all orginal other than that and still has the 1926 New Jersey license plates. It was very powerful for its day, easily capable of 60 mph cruising. Unfortunately the roads back in those days weren't designed for those speeds.

Nice. Aren't the xs's usually dual carbed? Any advantage to one besides easy tuning? My buddy might start building one soon. Just wondering.

Ya they are. There really is no advantage to this setup other than the looks cool factor. It took awhile to get the Carb dialed in but now it runs great.

tough to follow a Gold Star.

The first one I built from an XL350 and spare parts. Just kind of fun in my spare time. I got the bike for free, and when I pulled the rear shocks off to use on another project I thought it looked interesting with the lowered rear end. Nothing to brag about, but a lot of fun without spending any real money (I bought new tires, gaskets and seals when I decided to sell).

The second one I didn't build, just took apart and put back together.

The triton is a real long term project. Bought the frame a couple years ago, and I just keep my eye out for other parts for cheap. Don't have a head for the motor, but the lower end is in great shape. Gearbox was picked up from a guy that used to flat track Nortons, it was a spare of his. Maybe when the Commando is done, and I get my Hinckley Bonneville straightened out (got cut off by a drunk) I'll get the few parts that I do have on the lift, and get a little more active with it.

Last year I modified a Yamaha TW 200.

It looked like this when I bought it.

Then I started tearing it down.

Cut off the mountings tabs I no longer needed and sandblasted the frame in my driveway.

Then had the frame powdercoated.

Started putting it back together again.

Eventually got to this.

I wanted a "street" scrambler, vertical twin and old enough to qualify for antique plates and insurance. I found this rusty 1975 Honda CL360 near by and for a decent price. I'm hoping to have it back together and riding by June.

Here's my Honda Superhawk the day I bought it:

After an "oops" I ended up replacing all of the bodywork with imported Firestorm bodywork from Canada. I installed a 954RR front fork/brake set up that required moving the radiators and altering the wiring for the 954RR ignition switch. The 954RR fender didn't match the bodywork so I rocked basic black.

The Wolf (imported from the UK) undertail exhaust system was a bad choice; later I went to a Two Brothers exhaust. After discovering the a 929RR fender was the right color, a friend bought it for me as a gift. The high mount Two Brothers exhaust didn't have a kit to relocate the passenger pegs... so I used sockets as spacers. I was a little low on cash at that point.

Here is a swing arm bike I built for myself. Aftermarket frame with a crate Evo, I built the trans up from swap meet and e bay parts. Gilroy Indian primary and then everything else I fabricated. The tank is .080 aluminum I formed on an english wheel and shot bag, there are four failed tank attempts prior to the finished product. 200 rear tire with hayabusa six piston calipers. Rear fender is a trailer fender with sides welded in, front is a HD wide glide picked out of the dumpster at a dealer and sides welded on. All the other brackets, handle bars, sissy stick came out of my head.
