My experience, they are shown as sale prices, but they appear to be about what you can expect to pay every day. They are a discount over list price, but nobody ever pays list. YMMV...

This is true for a lot of stuff. Some of the stuff really is at a pretty steep discount. I know I got my wrench sets for about $80 each for the long combo wrenches. Regular price is quite a bit higher on those.

Anybody have any idea why the flex head ratchets are 72 tooth, but the fixed head are 90 tooth? Seems like they would utilize the same internal design.

They probably source them from different manufacturers. Their 90 tooth models are fairly nice but the 72 tooth flex heads are much better ratchets. The heads are tiny and there's less slop in the gears. Some of the 72 tooth models can be sourced more cheaply under the Powerbuilt brand, if a metal handle isn't a deal breaker.

Carlyle has 90 tooth flex head ratchets with comfort grips. the 72 tooth versions are the quick release versions.

I own both the P90 fixed head and locking flex 72t in 3/8 and 1/2. The only thing I can think of is the thickness of the head because of the qr button? I say that without actually measuring the thickness of the heads so I could be totally wrong on that. However I can tell you that regardless of the tooth count, I love both ratchet designs equally. They're what I grab first now.

These P90s are the only one I recollect having a design on the head.

HERORTK15 Which includes the R3890, R1290, and a knife.

Could anyone provide me with the overall length of the long beam 1-1/4" and 24mm combination wrenches?

I have a maximum dimension of 20-3/16" for the toolbox I'm putting together that I can't exceed. Knowing the length will let me go with either the long beam or standard length wrenches.

The 1-1/8 is 16-7/8” long, couldn’t easily find the 1-1/4 on their website, but can’t imagine it’d be 3” longer.

Likewise, I couldn’t pull up the 24mm quickly, but the 27mm is 13-5/16” long

Those are the standard length dimensions, not the long beam. I have looked those up before.

Sloper0204,

The length of the long beam 1-1/4" wrench is 17-1/8".

The length of the long beam 24mm wrench is 13-5/16".

Way too expensive for infar taiwan straight ratchet wrenches, you can buy facom for same money and they better/slimmer design.
do like lot of carlyle tools but wrenches and sockets overpriced and more so when evaluate long term warranty risks which is where good 40% of the price going .

yeah best way mate .
sockets and ratchets are above average and pretty wise buy at flyer/sales pricing .
I do love my local Napa and would love do more tools via them but range and prices needs improve.
Is great having a tool delivered same day with parts order any day of week .
They need do a trade tool members card as would clean up if got prices right and expanded the range .
The parts stores really missing the pro tool potential market, they could be like tool trucks but delivery every day of week if you run an account .

Pretty good value, true value really comes down to what they retailing in a decades time when you want a warranty exchange, are you going get equal quality or will it be like chinese craftsman grade :-/ making the warranty portion of the purchase wasted expense .
I really like carlyle and like see Napa expand it and push it harder so consumer could have more confidence in brand strength and range growth .

I hear ya, but like i've said many times before, future warranty is a **** shoot with any manufacturer/supplier. GW, SK, C'man, Armstrong, etc. I could go on, but you get my point...

If you're a 8 hour a day working tech, then yeah, warranty matters. Everyone else, not so much, imo

Yeah I generally never buy based on warranty as prefer self warranty as I'm far more reliable in managing my warranty claims lol :)
Trouble with carlyle prices always that high even on sale that you kind of hope get some use from warranty .
Can't win them all and at end of day tool design, purchase ability and usability wins over warranty concerns .

Look what showed up finally! Really like the feel and heft if it.
The 30 oz stubby makes more sense to me than the TC 43 oz, but maybe I gotta get one of those too.

Fact they high end taiwan is good thing, some of the top taiwan hand tool options are currently world class and even surpass/match some well known truck brands .

Not sure if you are referencing the Carlyle hammers specifically, but they are not Taiwan, but made by Trusty Cook here in the U.S. of A.

It's probably the same. Everyone else lists hammers by the head weight but TC lists them by total weight. Anybody know for sure?

That would make sense, especially since TC doesn't have a 30 oz flat-flat. Can't imagine they would make a special mold just for Napa. And this is the first TC I have had in my hands so I don't really know what the 43 looks like in real life to compare.

First ever Carlyle tool. Picked up the used swivel head 3/8 for a great deal. Heavy diesel mechanic for a living. Looking forward to putting it to the test. They really have a nice line of tools
