Thanks,

Jim

Those are really hot items now. I've been looking for one myself but people are asking outrageous prices for complete junk. I've seen some pretty nice reproductions for less than $1K. I'm looking for something around $400.-$500. that needs some paint and graphics. The other item that is crazy expensive are the ECO air inflation meters. I have friends that had them at their shops years ago and threw them out when they broke.

Nice work. Mine is just a common GasBoy I picked up for 300 bucks but it is in perfect working condition and no rust. I plan to repaint it red, same color as my 65 Cobra and put a lighted Mobil globe on it. I'm always looking for another one.

This looks like the front of a Bowser 555 that I have. I hope to build a wood cabinet in the shape of the pump body, and mount the 555 front like a door. Needless to say, it's not in the shape yours is!

Finally found a gas pump for the garage! I bought this 1955 Smithway L-3 gas pump from a guy on craigslist. He did a pretty good job refurbishing it but I added some finishing touches, cleaned and oiled the internal mechanism, and rewired the unit. She's not as classic looking as most of the more popular pumps but it's still simplistically cool in my opinion.

Nothing fancy but it was cheap. 50 bucks for the pump & had the color of the original grey porcelain on the doors scanned & matched at the local paint supplier & put into spray cans. The biggest expense was the original Texaco sign for the front of the pump. It was always a Texaco "Sky Chief" pump so the holes were already there. It's not as old as some of yours but it fits the 60s theme I have going on and I have just a touch over $200 invested. 37.9 a gallon for leaded Premium.. Also my lubester. It's a little unique in that it had a dial on top that reads how much oil it's dispensing.

I love the fact it only has one digit to the left of the decimal point as if a tank of gas costing over $9.99 was inconceivable!

Here is a pic of the oldest pump in my collection. It's a 1910 Milwaukee Tank Works pre-visible pump. It has a cloth hose with bananna nozzle and also a dispensing valve on the front for filling buckets. I mounted it on an oak base with a brass pipe to convert the pump to a floor lamp. It currently sits in my living room!

Mine is not all original. It had a register added to it in the early 1980's. It was used for diesel at the Public Works yard where I worked for 30 years. When we replaced our gas and diesel pumps, the boss threw the old ones away. There were two just alike. I got one of them. I havent done anything to it. One day I am going to put it back pumping diesel for my tractors at home.

I was able to pick up a pump and a Eco Air meter for my shop. The insides of the pump are removed but the air meter is functional.

I use this. Originally was installed on an underground. I took the suction screen and pump apart and cleaned it.
