Here is the jack I picked up off of CL today for $30 its a Walker j-612 2t, she needs a little "tune-up" but should work just fine for what I will use it for. Does anyone know what years these were manufactured or have a link to a parts diagram, etc.? I have looked all over and either Im looking in the wrong place or there arent any! thanks!

I bought this jack at an estate sale at a farm up the road from me for $20. It's a Lincoln 93642. It was manufactured after Pentair after the aquired the company. I can't find anything to indicate where it was made (Pentair sent the manufacturing to China at some point). At any rate, it works perfectly. It is filthy and has some rust that make the front wheels want to drag instead of roll. I'm taking it apart for a cleanup and repaint.

I found a parts list for it and they list a "label kit", but I haven't been able to find one. Any ideas? Hiball?

The ad in the paper said it was a Hein Werner. The pump plunger is horizontal and appears to pump the full stroke of the handle.

The guy that sold it had a large collection of, mostly automotive memorabilia. Seeing it all was almost worth the price of the jack.

Just picked both of these up yesterday. They've been in storage since the 80s when a local garage shut down. The former owner recently passed away and I got these from his grandson at an automotive swap meet. Haven't even wiped them down. The Weaver works well, the Walker doesn't lift yet.

The jack had one arm that goes from the frame to the lifting arm that was just dangling. So I fixed that with a clevis pin and a "hairpin". Stripped it, primed and painted it. Looks much better now.

I believe you have a very early design version of an S-4. I don't see a real good pic of your hydraulic unit, but I believe that it is very similar to later production units.

Unless you can obtain a "parts" jack, any hard components beyond hardware will be very difficult to source.

From your pics, it looks like your control knob has been cut down to accommodate the tacked on hook creation. On a brighter note, your T-handle is cast steel and more robust than the cast alloy T-handle that is often found with one side sheared off on newer S-4 units.

The trigger and an attaching control rod assy is used for handle positioning. You'll find pics of the trigger assy here:

I may be wrong about your knob being cut down. Check out post #32 by Steve Bryant his handle assy. appears to be configured similar to yours:

After degreasing and power washing here are some more pics.
I put oil in it and it works

Looking though this thread will take me probably 3 weeks.......but I recognise this jack used in the textile mills......they used a 2-ton Model K Heinwerner for the original and adapted it with the plate on the saddle.....and a longer lift arm

Yes, the 10 ton is very hefty......it is all there and I rebuilt it 25 yrs ago when I commandeered it and lifts the whole 20,000lbs.....

Please tell us more about this seriously cool jack!! I've only seen this style of Manley jack in an old magazine ad and I've been wanting to see one in person for some time now. I really like the style of it. From outward appearances it looks to have a single piece frame, is that the case? I'm thinking that this is a model J-2 from the 40's or 50's?

You probably wouldn't upset to many folks if you felt the need to dust this little beauty off and show us some more detailed pics. :D

Here are my two "decent" jacks. My recent thrift store Hein-Werner WS 1 1/2 ton and my japanese-made 1 1/2 ton sears. I just purchased the Hein-Werner yesterday but the Sears jack has been reliable forever.

Here is the old Napa 2 ton 91-642B. Will pump up a little but won't stay so needs rebuilt; locally it's going to be expensive. Wanted to try doing it myself but can't get the tank nut off! Considering buying one from Harbor Freight but would really like to restore this one since it's made in the US. Would look good in the garage with a new paint job.

Can you ID this jack?

I have this old floor jack that recently stopped working. I want to try and repair it bit I can't even figure out the make a model to try and find instructions on figuring it out. Can anyone help me ID this?

Here's the one that's been in our family since the early 60's. Would like to know the manufactures date. Anyone have more info on it?
I plan on repainting it and maybe I should rebuild the cylinder. Are parts available? Doesn't leak much and works great-just askin'

Have the same jack except the only paint remaining is under the cylinder cover. Is that the original paint scheme of that jack?

4000 lb rated 12V electric jack. Bought it on sale at Harbor Freight. Used it on my Jeep, F150 4x4, and even lifted one side of my 25' travel trailer when I had a tire blow out on the hwy. Not bad for $49 (on sale).

Yea, I've got the standard hydraulic jacks too...

it has a special handle mounted trigger to release pressure similar to a floor jack.

I recently acquired this piece for use as a forklift Jack. I told the fella that I bought from that even if it didn't work it would make a substantial doorstop. I am curious if anyone knows the brand and/or age of this unit. The unit weighs 127 pounds and I find it quite interesting in that it appears to be extremely well-made in that the track that the actual tow hook slides up and down in appears to be bronze. I'm attaching four different views of this unit. Thanks for your help. Dennis Dvorak [email protected] I am naming it R2D2.

thanks for the inquiry. That's not the original paint scheme. It was dark blue I think. I did repaint it to my own paint scheme. After all these years it is now starting to loose pressure so I need to rebuild the cylinder. Good winter project!

I currently have a Craftsman Professional jack. It's nice and has served me well. Ever since I lowered my Pontiac Trans Am, I can't seem to get the jack under the side of the car to jack it up by the subframe connectors. I'm about 1-2" too high to fit under there. My temporary fix has been to use a cheap smaller floor jack with one of those removable handles that also doubles as the release for the hydraulic pump. Basically its a PITA to fuss with 2 jacks to get my car up on jack stands. I need a lower jack.

I'm thinking of posting that on Craigslist to help fund a new jack. I have been looking online and found a couple of good options. In no particular order:

Does anyone have any experience with the Sears or Harbor Freight jack? I'm afraid the Harbor Freight one will be a piece of **** and fail in a couple of years. My friend has the Napa jack and swears by it. The Napa one is also the most expensive of the three.
