Not really car or gas station related, but these came off a building that was a local Marina/sporting goods/John Deere dealer that was run by a friend of my fathers back in the 50's and 60's.The building was turned into a pizza place in the 70's,and closed down in the 90's. About 10 years ago,new owners were cleaning out the basement.I asked if there were any old signs they were getting rid of...they gave me these two

"camarotoolman" is this the deer your refering to, I jump shot three of them like "RABBITS" and the biggest I took from a tree stand 150 class buck,I took 2 in my backyard this year.Deer and Turkey around here are getting to be a nuisance.I like to eat it and do my little part of population control. I shoot them, hang em, gut em,butcher them, eat em, and hang em some more.

Lots of good lookin signs out there:thumbup: Keep em Coming!

A few from the old world, or most of them from a gone empire:

1950s Citroen

IMG_4430.jpg

Some kind of mockup of an industrial appliance, probably for air, for school use. It even have a 220 v cord so I could get the lamps to work if I bothered changing to broken fuse holder.

IMG_4434.jpg

The left one says Don't work without protective appliances, the right one Don't climb -lethal.

IMG_4436.jpg

1950s, probably sign for Hanomag trailers. NOS sign, I can get more of them for 20 € if there's interest.

OK here are mine, these are the ones in the garage or destined for the garge but at the moment I have no wall space left.

Outside, one french 50 kph sign, one british 20 mph sign, and a couple of odd repro bits and pieces

IMG_0949.jpg

Old license plates, american and british, my aim is to eventually have one from each US state.

Old (80's) Bosch spark-plug display stand

IMG_0951-1.jpg

Amusingly given the subject, found dumped in a ditch!

IMG_0953.jpg

Full size French roadsign pointing to the village nearest to my house over there, this and the 50kph sign were rescued from a dumpster at my local rubbish tip over there, the french attendant thought I was mad!

IMG_0954.jpg

This red one and the small white one in the previous picture came from a WWII vintage military fuel depot

IMG_0959.jpg

French enamel texaco sign, double sided.

IMG_0955.jpg

Assorted bits and pieces, the Michelin tyre pressure sign is from 1967 and French.

IMG_0957.jpg

British Road Narrows sign

IMG_0960.jpg

Not a sign I know but a full size US traffic light.

IMG_0956.jpg

Double sided Butane sign, enamel, French

IMG_0958.jpg

My most recent acquisition, 1935 Essolene double sided enamel sign, 30" diameter.

IMG_0948.jpg

I have more in my kitchen, mostly the large blue French street names.

Man, I'm diggin' on some of these signs and shops!

Here's some of mine. I found all of these in a old sign shop that was being demolished. They are steel and bakelite, and they were safety signs for a mine.

I've spent the past year collecting these lighted beer signs and finally have them up. I replaced all the wiring and lighting fixtures in them. I've got the trim pieces painted and need to get them put up one of these soon days so I can call this project complete!

A big thanks to everyone for sharing pictures of their signs...very, VERY nice! I'd like to start collecting some old oil, tool, gas, or related signs.

I've posted these a couple other places, but this seems like the right spot.

Well this pales in comparison to many of the aforementioned signs, but I got bored a few weeks ago on a day off from work and carved this in some old wood I had laying around. Every letter is embossed/engraved around, all hand painted. Distress marks in the wood are real. It measures about 8x20". Based off of one of their original designs.

I'm always on the lookout for original signs, but haven't had much luck finding ones in my price range. Alas, I've toyed with the idea of making more of different companies until I can find ones that are original online/locally.

Wow! you'all have some killer signs! I have very little wall space, so I hang 'em where I can.
My favorite one is the "No Bunking Radiation Area" sign, which was removed from a decommisioned Navy Cruiser.
