My collection so far. The airport signs are from our local and these were out back one of their sheds due to the magnetic bearing changing and so they had to redo the runway and cross strip.

The truck hood sat out back my neighbours garage for years so I saved it and lettered it. The impeller wheel by the CB panel is from a radial engine.....can’t remember if it was a P&W 2800 or 1830. The grey nose gear door is a Grumman Tracker, I have a picture of several lined up at a Canadian airport in the 70s and #46 is in that line up.

Let’s see some Garage Signage

I tried to search but I guess “sign” “signs” “garage signs” is very common. Didn’t find a good thread but I am sure they exist.

In the middle of a garage makeover and looking for COOL or unusual garage art, tins, decals, etc..... to make it pop.

Where to buy or browse would be great also.

Here is where I am at on my attached 28x32.

Looking for inspiration. Long time member but don’t post much.

Re: Let’s see some Garage Signage

You can browse my page if you want. I'm a signpainter west of Chicago. https://www.facebook.com/gassersignsandlettering

These are just a couple samples I hand-lettered recently showing various effects like outlining, shades, airbrushing---typical drag racer/hot rod stuff. You'll need to click to see the detail!

Best bet to contact me is probably through facebook PM, since I don't get on here much.

Re: Let’s see some Garage Signage

I had this in a cardboard sleeve in my office for a couple of years. Since I'm in my own house now and turning the garage into a workshop I decided to hang it up. If you zoom in and look at the reflection you will see the silhouette of the 66 Hertz car.

Not really old and not really signs but here is a few of my newest additions to the workshop. They are from a guy that does the east coast car show circuit. He also has a listing on Etsy where he sells his work, you can find it by searching "hot rod pencil" on etsy. He has drawings for just about any car. They are prints from his actual drawings and he personalizes on the sign portion while you wait (actually won't sell them unless personalized). Have 3 others but these are the newest. I had just framed them and snapped a pic to send to a buddy.

One of my faves. Part signage, part actual tool.

It's younger Snap-On brother:

Scored this one for $9 because it "didn't work". It was just a failed switch. :)

A fallout shelter sign from the 50's or early 60's--never used! I found a whole box of NOS ones at an antique swap meet. They had some kind of old preservative impregnated paper between each one. A fun find. The No Smoking sign is dated from the 30's, Texaco, porcelain on steel.31266532-ECDF-4435-B3FA-0D49974C7B89.jpeg
