Well, I just used it for the first time. I did a belt line fill on a cheap Ikea cart that I'm going to use for tools.

Here's how the shelves came:

I welded in dividers and hit it with Plasti Dip:

It's hard to tell, but I also repainted the gray cart a slightly different shade of gray:

Part of the reason I tried it is that I'm thinking about maybe using it on my race car.

what you gonna use it for on the car jack? i can see it being a great sound deadener, but race cars dont need that....of course i prefer derby cars lol...
you've peaked my curiosity once again jack.

I did the handles on my Kennedy machinist box. The chrome was badly deteriorated and I wanted something that would stay on to the surface which still had half the chrome holding fast. It has a nice feel to it now too.

wheels and hood stripe done. fyi i only did this on the hood because i screwed up the center most raised section with dry spray. i think it kinda looks cool though, and it was easy enough. took me less than 30 minutes to tape off and finish spraying. i also sprayed every chromed logo on the car besides the bumper inserts. i like the stuff.

Can someone post a pic of the can of Plasti Dip. I am picturing in my head, the red dip stuff that you do pliers handles, and can get at ACE. I want to do all my pliers in Orange, but I cant find it...
Am I thinking of something different? I didn't know they made a spray.
Thanks.
Munsk.

I would use it for the exterior -- only because it's cheap and then easy to remove. The race car has all fiberglass body panels and they get more white-on-black stone chips with every lap. I've re-painted the car three times, now. And it's due for another paint job.

I doubt I'll go with Plasti Dip in the end. But it's something I've thought about, strictly as an easy to touch-up alternative to expensive paint jobs.

Here's a new Camaro that's been sprayed with the stuff.

the spray on goes just fine. for what i did on my hood i had to to it all in one heavy coat. if not where i had taped off would have stuck as well and pulled the rest of it off. i had to pull it off wet.

on the wheels, i did multiple coats until i was satisfied. smaller coats and worked my way up.

I did 8 coats, 30 minutes apart. Waited 30 minutes after the last coat before pulling the masking off. About 95% of the over-spray etc. came up. Then about 10 minutes with a toothpick to clean up in the tight spaces, inside the letters (A) for example and done.
