Had to use these big boys today, they are a little different so I thought I'd share. When I got them they were rusty, covered in grime and the main (static?) jaw was tweaked quite a bit. I think someone tried to twist something with them. :dunno:

A little wire wheeling on the rust, rubbing alcohol on the grips and arbor press to straighten them out. Herbrand 40-14. Standard AA battery for reference.

Those are most of the pliers I have at work. I have added another Mac set of vise grip style pliers since the pics were taken. Trying to complete my set of Knipex Cobras.

Here is my pliers drawer. I'm pretty satisfied with my assortment. If eventually like to add a larger hose pinch pliers and possibly a snap on 90* needle nose

Wow
I scanned a lil over 80 pliers
@ a very conservative 25 per handle avg.
IS OVER 2K:shocking:

Very conservative!

I would say with the exception of what appears to be 2 or 3 Channellock brand pliers, the rest of them look like either Snap On or Knipex. Probably an average of $40-45 each. :dunno:

Nice collection by the way!

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-6k by my estimates.

I'm sensing you have addiction issues.

What gave it away

Thanks. No channellock brand in there. It's all Snap-on, Knipex, and the two blue handles are Klein Linemans pliers. There's also six ratcheting Thomas and betts crimpers.

Nice, have any of these been used ?

Are you new in the business,or are you a home wrencher.

They've all been used, now I'm out of the business so it all sits idle at home unless I have some sort of project going. I use optimum power clean to clean them before putting them back, keeps them looking clean.

All the tools at the current gig are provided, and I'm actually not permitted to bring in my own.

My mother's basement
I took this picture so I would remember how they all went back in.
All my other drawers... no problem, I know where everything goes. But the pliers drawer vexes me everytime....

I thought this one is worth showing. Its the best locking pliers I have ever used! Its not even called locking pliers, instead its called a Pressure Lock Wrench. Made for BMC by FEM Tool of Illinois.

What kind of stuff do you use the Kiwi pliers on? And what brand are those?

Kiwi's are freaking awsome. Cheap and have super serated teeth so they grip good. I use mine alot for small hose clamps. Good for evap system work on cars. My recomendation would be to buy the ezred set or the mac branded ezreds. They seem to be the best. They are cheap too.

This thread reminds me that we have problems. We're all in good company here.
