The Mercer of the late teens had a tool roll with tools made by Billings & Spencer. If you haven't ever seen their tools take a look. At a time when many wrenches were stamped out of sheet stock, Billings held major patents on drop forging. adjustable wrenches really put to shame any made today. Here are two screwdrivers I've found which match the OEM provided with the car. These would've been made about 1920

I know what happened.... I'll repost the pix. They showed up on my home computer, but I think that was because the images were cached in my browser. I checked it from work and no pix as you mentioned. I will repost and include them as thumbnails.

In one of my pix (that I'll repost) there is also a shot of my Swiss Made Wiha Linesman pliers. The things look like they belong in a museum. Although the black handled PB's are nice, the Swiss Grips have an awesome feel to them and they really have great "bite."

One problem with screwdrivers, with me at least, is that I'm a sucker for any super smoking deal on the things. I probably have 6 sets or so now, all PB Swiss/Wera/Felo, and gave away my Craftsman set that I've had for 40+ years. I doubt I have $120 in those six sets.

They've all lasted 3 years except the flat head that gets replaced every few months from being used as a chisel. And looking to add the long reach 1/4 and 5/16 nutdrivers

Yeah, know the feeling. I have Pratt & Read set this is nice... I have a bunch of PB Swiss, flat head, Swiss Grip Phillips, and even a set of the European Pozidriv PB Swiss green handled drivers (actually, that was an accidental order thinking they were Phillips Head drivers, but kept them anyway).

The funny thing is that those Harbor Freight rubber grips with the magnetic ends that sell individually for about $2 a piece (or less on sale) are actually really high quality. I don't remember if they were made in Taiwan or China, but you often notice that many of the tools made in Taiwan are of higher quality and better finish than the stuff that comes out of China mainland. Even if you have a bunch of expensive SO drivers, the magnetic tips on the cheap "Pittsburgh" HF Phillips and Flat come in fairly handy ever now and then.

I have that same problem. I'm always ruining screwdrivers from using them as a chisel. I do have a dedicated "chisel screwdriver", but unfortunately I always end up using whatever is in my back pocket.
