This is my "secondary" set of wrenches at my townhouse, not may main garage/shop. I don't do much car work at the townhouse, so inch size still dominates.

Two odd things may be apparent. One is redundant items. The main reason is there isn't a big roll-away, but a tool board & rack and several grab & go hand boxes. That's one reason there are lots of adjustable wrenches.

The second thing is sets that aren't really sets. Two reasons behind that. First, this shop was set up on the cheap, with flea market & garage sale tools. There's lots of Craftsman - all USA vintage, but Williams, Armstrong, SK, Snap-On and defunct companies like Indestro & Herbbrand, too.
Also, I like to have TWO openings of the same size for common sizes in box end & O.E. sets.

So for example, one short box set is mostly SK, but there is a 7/16" x 1/2" Snap-On, too because SK only has 3/8" x 7/16" and 1/2" x 9/16" The 15" adjustable 1mport is Sears Companion, and below it, actually not an import, is a 12" SK, both road finds! The hook spanners are Williams and Facom.

Here are a few from the main garage & shop - the old inch stuff.

Both are mixed USA sets, mostly pre-China Craftsman for the combos, except 19/32" & 25/32" vintage Williams at the bottom and a little 3/16" ProAmerica ,a Gov't spec brand. TRW tool roll is a random acquisition. Range from 3/16" to 1-5/16"

Box set has just about everything -mostly C'Man & Proto with a few Williams, 1ea. Snap-On, KD, from 1/4" to 1-5/8" And it includes the vintage odd 32nds sizes too, even a 13/32".

Of all you folks that have obstruction wrenches / Spanners for the other coast and I see some half moon and some S shaped ones. which do you end up using most the half moon or the S shape or does it depend on the situation?
Trying to build a set of obstruction wrenches but not sure which ones to purchase or both.
Thanks,
:)

Half moon, depending on the situation, I don't own S shaped yet, but having half moon I think S shaped could be the better option sometimes when you need to access awkward fasteners.

I've got a long shop but only 10'wide on average so I have several boxes set up in different areas to save on walking time. I also work on British bikes so I have as much whitworth as anything else but I'll only touch my own personal bike with gold plated wrenches of at least 22 karats.

Main Box SAE

Main Metric

Main Whitworth

Main Ratchet, Crow Ft & Line

Second Box SAE

Second Box Metric

Road Box

Other Box

some RP C-man

Metric Lt. SAE Rt.

Help Me

...and before anybody sounds off about my gold plated wrenches, know this: I got them all for cheaper than you could buy the standard ones and I haven't really used them yet because I need to figure out how to melt the gold off em first.

I have wrenches in blow molded cases and vinyl rolls stacked on top of the wrenches in racks. For such a small tool they sure to take up a lot of space.

Interesting observation to me(worthless opinion) that most guys put ratchets and sockets on the "priority area".
If I have a little piece of------- to take off and replace, my last thought is sockets and ratchets. I cram a handful of wrenches in my pocket and have at it.

Here's my collection. 22 out of 32 wrenches are USA made (approx 69%). Only metrics here. KDs are from Cripe and fit well into my older CM set. I should have gone from 19-25 all KD in the first place... (The Duralasts stand out like a sore thumb! But they do feel solid.) I love my ratcheting wrenches. That little Snap-on feels more solid than most of my combination wrenches!

Needs:
- I am keeping an eye out for a nice set of flare nuts (without the flex heads)
- I would like more of my combination wrenches to be a little longer.
- I would definitely like to score a few more crowsfoot wrenches.

All in all, these have served me well. I don't think a DIY weekend(ish) wrencher who only works on (small) foreign cars needs much more than this... Now if only I could find a way to store them in my little toolbox! :headscrat

Combination Wrenches:
6-18mm, Craftsman (USA)
19mm, 21mm, Duralast (Taiwan)
20mm, 22mm, 23mm, 25mm, KD Tools (USA)
24mm, Craftsman (China)

Flex-head Flare Nut Wrenches:
GearWrench 81911
9mm x 11mm,
10mm x 11mm,
13mm x 14mm,
15mm x 17mm,
16mm x 18mm,
19mm x 21mm

Ratcheting Wrenches
SK 340M
9mm x 10mm (6pt)
11mm x 12mm (6pt)
13mm x 14mm (6pt)
15mm x 17mm (12pt)

Snap-on RBM1213S
12mm X 13mm (6pt)

Crowsfoot
Proto
22mm

EDIT JAN 2017: Went on Cripe and replaced the three non-USA wrenches in my collection. Also replaced my 13mm and my 17mm USA Craftsmans which were a little beat up. I picked up some full polish KDs with 6-point box ends. and one 24mm Allen. They're all sweet. (The reach on the Duralasts are a little longer, but OCD...) Here is my updated 6-25mm set. Don't think I'll need to extend or replace this set for a long time...

Now approximately 78% of my combination wrenches are USA made! :rocker:
