Yes....you heard right....a thread dedicated to one of the most overlooked, unappreciated, and unspoken shop tools. Enough of that...trying to be funny. Found these at a yard sale. Debating on clean-up and restoration...however those raised letters need some paint to pop!!! Since there's and area code they must be 1947 or newer.... I'm guessing 50's. T&S Equipment Co. Angola IN.

Nice! Sure beats the smelly chunk of rubber from Harbor Freight that I use.

Mines just some 6X6 chunks I've got laying around that serve many other uses until they get used up, then they become kindling for the shop stove lol.

I bought a box lot @ an auction to get this piece, since I had none. Looks period under the front wheel of my '40 Cab Over.

Has no markings, and in fact one side looks like it was cut via a band saw, so not positive it's an intentional chock, but sure works like one.

Tym: Even HF chalks need love too!!

Tombell: I keep telling mama I need an old truck...even more so with those chalks

Outlander: My arms are probably a half inch longer from all the years I drug those damn aircraft chalks around (17yrs) , refreshing soon!!

Countryroad: When times are hard...gotta do whatcha gotta do..

WQ59B: Yours is probably a little more functional as it will grip... mine would slide on a concrete floor...it'll be a display 90% of the time.

Does a log cut from a really old tree count? Those are cool man

Absolutely, the 1st chocks I heard about were used to prevent logs from rolling and were split from a round. Hardwood chocks are manufactured for packing logs on ships for overseas transport. Same for pipe and 45 gal. drums.
