So what I want to know is on the new 84" Epiq with the powerdrawer, can it be moved to the top?

My OCD has issues with misaligned drawer pulls from one bank to the other. If the powerdrawer could be configured to be the top drawer in the left bank, it would be the same height as the 3 full width drawers on triple full width drawer models.

Posting some more pics for lugnut71. This Mr. Big Epiq was just delivered to another local mechanic and friend of his. He'll have to chime in on exactly what finish that is on the trim.

This is my first post to this awesome forum. Here is my new 84" Candy Apple Red Epiq that I received at the beginning of this year. It has the power drawer and power top.

Chris, you can move the power drawer. One of my guys just did it on his Epic.

He extended the wires and moved the power drawer to the bottom, he is short and it works for him. The problem is, the regular drawer that is where the power drawer was pushes on the wiring bulkhead that is in the back of the box.

The best way to do it would be to cut another hole in the back of the box for the bulkhead to go behind the power drawer, then you wouldn't have to do any wiring.

When I do order my Epiq I plan to wait for the RnR truck, not only for the savings but specifically because I want a custom drawer configuration and there it's a $0 upcharge.

I wonder if SO will build the box with the power drawer in top position. The RnR rep would probably be the best to ask. The couple times I've talked to one prior to this new power drawer they seem like they really know their **** when it comes to custom configuration possibilities.

I think that would be a hard request, it’s hard for the dealers to even speak to a person at the algona factory , it’s all thru email , I’m sure it’s set in a Jig to punch the electrical hole in specific spot , I agree it’s doable but I am very doubtful of that happening

Another co worker ordered the teal baby epiq , took a while but it showed up about a month ago. Choose that color to match his master series. Other co worker bought the 76" candy apple two years ago and just got half locker few weeks ago. Been a lot of epiq things showing up around here.

A few photos of the drawer guards. The carbon fiber is great because it won’t dent when you drop a tool on them. The titanium front guards are not the same as the box trim as it is powder coated but still looks good.

Both the carbon fiber trim and Ti trim fit absolutely perfect. Very well made additions for an Epiq I think! I had the carbon fiber on my KRL as well and the fit was off on a few drawers.

Really dig the Epiqs. I have a KRL7022 that's FAR from full and I keep convincing myself that I need an Epiq - I like the drawer pulls better, they look cooler, etc. Then i realize, no.... I don't need an Epiq, then I start looking for one again. Thank god i don't have a real SO man......

How tall are you? I'm 6'. I don't have an epic or a hutch but one of my guys does and when I am at his box I feel crowded by the hutch.

I personally think hutches are wasted open space. If I were to fill that same space above my 84 it would be with the set of drawers.

It depends on how desperate you are for the space.

Definitely better use of the shop real estate to have a top box and all those drawers, if space if tight. But I like a hutch so you can close it up and secure all the stuff in it - the odd items that you don't keep in drawers and don't want laying around on workbench like small part for jobs in progress, books / paper work, chargers / batteries, lights, I keep some shop supplies like spray cans and gloves handy there. When stuff get messy - dirt / oil is likely to go flying - I just pull the lid shut and don't have to turn in oil stained paperwork.

Even with all that in mind, I couldn't fully decide, so I have one box with hutch and one roller / top box stack!

Sometimes I like to give just a little “push” to help people make an expensive decision. Especially when it comes to Snap-on gear!

Yeah that’s my old 997.2 GT3. I miss that car! Have the new 991 GT3RS and it’s a great car but a bit numb compared to the 997. Might go elsewhere here in a few months...

I have owned two hutches before , I didn’t think I would buy another one, the reason I am considering now is I am ready to put a computer on my toolbox and really like the idea of a large monitor on the back wall, for all data , gm weblink, etc, plus I can get a really good price right now

My 2 cents: You gotta decide for yourself. Sure, a little forum advice is fine, but ultimately you gotta go with your gut - making any decisions on web-opinions is a PITA 'cause there's always more arguments offered for either choice....you either end up wishing you hadn't listened to the crowd or you'll at least waste a lot of your time and energy in analysis paralysis just to come to the same conclusion.

I put a hutch on my 72" master years ago, had the fluorescent light in it. I liked it , used it for 10 years. Bought a 68 epiq, used it for several years with the stainless top, liked that as well, then got a wild hair to add a hutch, liked the new version with the gas struts, added the led light , was way too bright couldn't handle it, had to put a rubber mat on stainless top to stop the glare. That being said this time around I would do a soft fluorescent light again. It is a lot of money for just a computer and being able to close up if you don't want to put your tools away.

Of course in this day and age , using a computer everyday working on cars/trucks is necessary and isn't going away. Seen another guy on youtube that has a wide screen in his hutch with alldata, identifix and napa all on the screen at the same time. It looks like an efficient set up.

This is part of my situation - trying to wrench and running into the office to play the role of service manager along with taking calls and looking up stuff at my desk. I got a laptop and had the remote sign-in thing setup by the IT guy so that anytime I'm at the toolbox I can't click right into my office desktop.

My dad took delivery of his new Epic today. He has two of the yellow boxes (long story) and traded both on the new box. You really have to see one in person to grasp how huge they are.

Umm yeah! RnR truck cost with rebates and incentives would be still be somewhere around $8000 just for the 84" main box. I would say $5000 is a very fair price.
