Here's my 60" epiq, got it on a deal about 4 years ago because my dealer realized no one wanted to pay the premium for an epiq in the common red color that almost every old dude with a master series has lol. I'm about to add an end cabinets on it because I'm just out of room for specialty tools and stuff in cases, but I have had thoughts of getting a bigger box altogether...

After many months probably more than a year of contemplating and some back and forth negotiating and rock and roll truck visits I have a 120 mr big on the way, claiming to ship April 30. Upgrading from my trusty 68 epiq I’ve had for several years

I’ll try to get some tomorrow. I have had cars in the way 24/7 since we put it together last Wednesday! Right now I got a viper in the air in front of it. I’m still trying to get moved in to it. Just so busy at the shop

Here is a quick and dirty pic from when we got it in place and together.

That cart is rated for 2000 pounds and I am sure it would be fine. I had one, almost wish I hadn't sold it, but it wasn't working for my particular layout.

:bounce: this cart was made for heavy duty engine and transmission techs. as Stouty said, they were rated for 2K lbs and cost 2500ish when they sold them. my brother bought one when they came out for rebuilding allison 2000 and 3000 transmissions... I've wanted one ever since. they've been discontinued for a long time and finding them is pretty difficult. they replaced it with the 4500 dollar full length drawer model the KEMW361 mobile work station.

this one is 7-8 years old. couldn't believe how easy it rolled across the shop and all the drawers work like nothing is on the top. i've had smaller engines on it, but this 1150lb cummins was sort of a test... sort of picture for bragging rights...

I have a question guys, I’m debating on either getting a master or an epiq, my only debate is I’m a very short dude lol I’m 5’4, and I would be getting it with a hutch, anybody got experience of it either being a pain in the *** to reach anything around in the hutch or write on RO’s at a frustrating height lmfao, the master seems like a good fit for me but my forehead is at height level with the lid of the hutch so I feel like it’s to short but the epiq is to tall, I’m in a dilemma lol 🤦🏼****♂️

My KRL is the same height as the tallest Masters Series @ 45 7/8" without an added top. I'm 6' and I've often thought that even an extra couple inches for a top may make the box a bit tall to work on top of.

The Epiq boxes only come in one height and to have a hutch installed properly you'll have to choose a bedliner, wood or stainless top. Either way you're looking at just over 50" to the work surface.

If I was your height I would get a Master's series in the slightly shorter height. The full depth double bank box is the KRL7022 vs. the one drawer taller KRL1022. The shorter 7022 lists on Snap-on's website @ 43 1/8" w/ a top installed. I would think that would be a far more comfortable height for you.

The best advice I can give though is try to find some examples of these boxes and stand at them so you can determine what is right for you.

Yea I didn’t know there was two different height masters , I’m looking to get it with a bedliner top and hutch already, I’ve stood around a coworkers master not sure which one it is , but that one felt short, basically my forehead is at the height of the closing lid of the hutch and I felt like it would be a problem later down the road and I would get annoyed with it, I’d have to keep researching and find other examples at work before I decide, thanks for your help tho, you shed some light on my topic

7xx models are the shorter units. 1xxx are the "full size" masters. The main difference is a row of 6inch or so tall drawers. Depth is the same iirc.

Glad I could help! Obviously if the Epiq is what you end up liking the best you'll have to just live with the height.

If the Masters is what you decide on here are pics to tell the difference by number of drawers. The shorter is one 4" row shorter. See what your coworker's got and if it's the shorter one you'll know to go with the full height box.254578e26326a60ab76b11cee0862e4e.jpg29eca54cdbd191014f500f63479352f8.jpg

What color is that? Are the Epiq's able to have custom drawer configurations? I'm mighty tempted to order an Epiq roll cart from my dealer partly because it's 30 inches deep...:bounce:

Storm gray with titanium trim

You can customize them to a point. Rock and roll truck is the best place to do that typically.

They can’t customize them as much as one may think that’s why I ended up with this layout.

I wanted a mr big comprised of a full drawer 84 with a full drawer 60 since they make a 144 and they make those two layouts separate you think they could do it but SO said no

Matt, what was it they limited you with? I know I didn't have a choice about the top drawers and at the time they did not offer as many full length drawers, but I was able to pick out any combination of drawers that was mathematically feasible.

My understanding from Snap-on was that you could customize a box in any drawer configuration you wanted. The picture is from a local guy up the valley from me.

Not as nice as Strouty and Matts boxes but it has a lot of drawers in that combo

Sorry about the late reply as I’m not on here a ton but. What I wanted and I still don’t know why they won’t make it was a 144 mr big. But the full width drawer on the 60 side. They break all the 144 up into 4 or 5 sections know what I mean

Well guys I’m on the hunt again, I guess I’ve been leaning more towards and epiq, just having a hard time choosing my color combos, does anybody have any clear pictures of an epiq in storm gray with black trim? All pictures I’ve seen are always taken with a potato or at weird angles

Here are some pictures I found on facebook and instagram, so they are not mine. It looks lighter and darker based on the lighting. I just ordered my Epiq in Gun Metal, which is the darker of the two grays that Snap on offers. If you can, try and get on a Rock and Roll truck, they have physical panels of all of the colors that they offer along with interchangeable trim, so you can see any color combination you want right in front of you. Hope this helps a bit!

It took me a while to narrow it down, but I have it narrowed down bwtween white and the 2 grays. If we ever see the R&R truck up here, I want to see them in person. Problem is, I don;t think they'll ever make it up this far north...

... which may be a good thing for my bank account! :lol_hitti

I'm not trying to rip on anyone with an Epiq by any means but anyone here not really impressed with them? If I were to buy a SO I'd stick with the master series. I've touched and felt the Epiqs but I'm just not impressed with them.

I had this feeling for a while but it went away as I kept using the toolbox. At first I thought it was inanely expensive for what is essentially a glorified KRL. I mean Epiq is only marginally bigger than KRL. There just isn’t a great deal of difference unlike say Epiq vs Heritage. So for a while I stayed away from Epiqs thinking that a 72” KRL would be the last box I’d own. Hutch, lockers- you will hardly ever run out of space. Then the prices went down for Epiqs and they’ve become more in line with the old KRL pricing and it made me look at them in a different light. As in Epiq is a bigger KRL after all. How can one not be impressed with it if one loves the KRL series? I love the drawer pulls. I forgot what it is to actually locate that plastic ###### and slide it. Epiq solution is much easier to use. Angled drawers are a great feature too. Pull, grab and walk away. They shut themselves. And that saves time. So in the end I’d say Epiq wins over KRL on pretty much everything. It’s a bigger, better KRL. My view anyway.

My 84" Epic finally arrived yesterday. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I have been moving my garage around to fit everything. It is gun metal gray with titanium trim, blackout option and a custom drawer layout (only slightly custom, as I just replaced a 4" drawer in the middle bank and side bank with two 2" drawers. So far I am loving the extra room over my 72" masters, especially the three extra wide drawers at the top. Still trying to decide what color drawer guards. Ill take better pictures soon.

Why not tell him to bring it with him or take some pictures of it. If he wants to sell it, it shouldnt be a problem.
