Got my first Epiq, a gently used 68 inch. Now on the lookout for a used locker and maybe a top box....

It's kinda funny because I have a Snap on Classic 78 in gloss black that I got at a great price, and I cannot complain about the quality of the box at all. But I always thought that when I got a Snap On box I would be satisfied. But the Classic 78 just doesn't have the visual appeal I was looking for, so I have been lusting for the EPIQ for a while. A 68" would be perfect, just need to find "an ex-wife looking to get back at her husband for what he did to her" price.

How do you find part numbers on the Snap On website for tops and other accessories for an Epiq box? Specifically looking for a rubber mat or stainless top, and also what it would take to convert one of mine over to a power drawer.....

where ya located? I want to sell my black one and get another green one in sidekick form.... one for the house shop and one for work.... once fastenal opens up the store to store, I will ship it....

“ I was able to order the workstation with 2 skinny drawers through the Rock and Roll truck, other wise I would have had to buy 2 375 dollar drawers and a set of slides”

Your previous post said you ordered the two 2” drawers on the initial order. The picture shows the work station with all four 4” drawers.

Did they just give you the 4” drawer?

I would have figured it was an even swap. The two 2” drawers for the one 4” drawer.

The green looks good!
Enjoy

They threw in the 2" drawers and extra set of slides with the stipulation I had to change them.

for some stupid reason, they do not custom order "carts". Even though the side kick comes with the drawers. so they include them with the "sale".

So yes, I have one extra 4" drawer now. Thought it was pretty stupid myself, but whatever. I'll use it on a work bench table. lol

NICE!

That is stupid, but it is a WIN for you.

You could sell the drawer, trade it, or have the option of changing it back to the original configuration at a later time.

I’ll likely order another set of slides and make a work bench similar to the ones snap on sold years ago....

Here’s a couple more pics.

My old KR’s are going away after 25 or so years,e8728cd45074593eeb49d590d4f06684.jpg
68” EPIQ is its replacement, while it’s more roomy I might have been better off with an 84”,e4b26d53c361c549944bc91ed5215eaa.jpg

Thanks, Green has really been growing on me and filling my box, old box was overflowing, not quite as much room as I had hoped but old box was stuffed to the max.
Still organizing, surprising the stuff you find after 25 years.

Here are some Epiq contributions to this thread courtesy of GJ member lugnut71.

A co-worker of his just got the new Epiq add on drawer unit. This comes with 2 casters and is designed to attach to an existing Epiq rollcab but they went ahead and installed a 2nd set of casters making it independently mobile. This essentially transforms the add on into the biggest Epiq cart and smallest Epiq roll cab!

Here is the size comparison with the smaller all drawer cart/box.5d477c531586c16a4810cf9f844c95fb.jpg
In chatting with lugnut71 the other day about this he also informed me that another buddy of his had ordered a 68" Epiq with a modified drawer layout that I had inquired about several times with Snap-on and was told they couldn't do it. Well here is the first photographic proof (that I've seen) of a 68" Epiq with 3 full width drawers in which the lowest 4" drawer was replaced with two 2" drawers making it a double bank box with four full width drawers on top! This may just be the layout I order next month when the R&R truck is scheduled to make a visit!

Mine? Black and atomic green trim. Snappy didn't show up today due to weather, work station might have been ordered or maybe not, soon.:pimpflash

I recently traded my 6s in on a used epiq 68 in the same colors. I got lucky as these are the colors I would have chosen if I ordered a new one. I got the rhino lined power top and the hutch, got the drawer organizer since it's older and didn't have speed drawer back then. I'm waiting on my light for the hutch. If I had room to put tapatalk back on my phone I would post some pics. I'm definitely loving the epiq I've been wanting one for years now.

Ordered a fully custom Epiq roll cart last November to match my 68" box. Finally showed up yesterday. Rather than the two shallow top drawers I requested one deep drawer, found out that Snap-on won't do it that way however, so my dealer had to order the drawer separate then swap when the box came in. Also I requested bed liner top rather than stainless, so at the factory they actually sprayed bed liner over the regular stainless top. Also it had to be cranberry color with blacked out trim and casters.

The trim and casters in black were an option in the system, but the color wasn't. So it was quite a long wait for it to get here, but I'm quite happy with the results. Only thing that is disappointing is that my welding hood won't fit in the top compartment like I was originally hoping. Guess it will have to stay in the deep drawer of the main toolbox for now.

Great Looking color combination!

Did you luck out by your dealer letting you keep the two shallow drawers like Angry Beaver?

My driver had one of those, even more delicious in person. Kind of like a glamorous lista cabinet. Not that the industrial cabinets don't have their own charm.

Profits must be very high to buy a tool box for that much. I use profit to make more profit and then use for nice house

I made my own box except not as beautiful. Must be very rich to have that money for box. Congratulations, very good.

Let's see some pics please Max, I have far more interest in home made stuff than wealthy Snap-On dealers :)

The KERN68 looks good but at £13k I will pass
