Does anyone have history of Standswell? Google didn't help much. This looks very much like a Record, is there a common factor? Size is 8 inch.

This was a tough nut to crack.

The Standswell tools name came out of Oliver V. Beckerlegge Ltd.
Oliver V. Beckerlegge Ltd. (OVB) was founded in 1918 in Sheffield.
In 1957-1958 OVB went into voluntary liquidation and was reformed to be called: Beckerlegge (Standwell Tools) Ltd. by Neepsend Steel and Tool Corporation, Ltd.
In the late '50s the name appeared in directories like The Ironmonger Directory of Branded Hardware and the Hardware Trade Journal Registry of Trade Names.

I found a snippet view from the 1957 Machinery's Annual Buyers' Guide of OVB selling clamps.

Beckerlegge (Standwell Tools) Ltd. made wire gauges and measuring equipment, compressor valve plates, punches, and yes, saw sets.

It, with other companies, was located at this tool works site in 1965...
Beckerlegge (Standswell Tools Ltd.) at 21 Mowbray Street, Sheffield

"In 1965, several firms were sharing the works... Longbro Tools Ltd., spanner manufacturers, and Beckerlegge (Standswell Tools) Ltd., Harper and Schofield Ltd., and the Albion Twist Drill and Tool Co Ltd. were all listed in trade directories as engineers' tool manufacturers at this site." This quote comes from page 6 of this document... Historical Metal Works Society - Summer 2007 issue

And here is Neepsend information... Head Office of The Neepsend Steel and Tool Corp

I found mentions of Beckerlegge (Standwell Tools) Ltd. up until 1971 but have not dug deeper.
