When you were welding the seams did you do it in sections with cooling breaks between. They look very consistent and smooth.

Are u available for hire?

As someone that has done custom exhaust before, I'm far more impressed by the layout/fit up than the actual welding. Fantastic job on both, you have some serious skills.

Thanks man, I've done a few pie cut exhausts lately, they are a ton of work. Luckily I enjoy doing the prep work just as much as welding, so these are pretty fun for me.

Without giving away too many secrets, I weld each joint completely before moving on to the next one. I have a few things that I do to guarantee zero movement while welding. I've been doing pie cuts for a long time now and it's taken a lot of different approaches and techniques to find what works the best.

I'm available for side work, just PM me if you have any questions. I don't want to come off as advertising on here. Just showing some work.

You have shown some extraordinary work!
one more hint :headscrat what are you cutting with?
I ask as someone that has cut and welded a lot of stainless food grade stuff.

thank you! I now use a horizontal bandsaw, I used a vertical bandsaw for a while and it was a lot trickier haha.

time for a ring roller and some heavier rod. my dogs would have done the same thing

I used 3/16 rod on the bottom...she didn't care...I might redo it with even thicker rod...she's usually never an escape artist but the neighbors mastiff has been getting out and she likes him lol

Are you tigging the welds or all these done with mig? If done by mig, what machine are you using? Man you have one steady hand

ptilbury , nice work but why aren't you using mandrel bent pipe instead..? less work and flows much better. Also less welds to fail.

I could use mandrel bends, but then the exhaust will be just like everybody else's. As far as flow is concerned, I wouldn't do a pie cut turbo manifold or a pie cut headers for a high strung tuned n/a engine. These are for Harley's, most Harley's are good with a little bit of back pressure. The pie cuts don't cause much disruption of flow though, I make them at real shallow angles depending on what my centerline radius needs to be and I back purge everything. I've done a lot of pie cut exhaust's before and haven't had a weld fail yet.

It may be a lot of work but it looks cool as hell
