Picture of clamp below best explains it and the place I got it from is Lehigh valley abrasives, they were the least expensive. I wanted something to help me for this project as well as some end tables and work bench I will be building in the future. It is very square! the surfaces are all machined and it comes with a spec tag for how it checked out. Quality for sure. I do not have a jig table so it did the job and holds it very tight while your tacs are cooling.

Can you provide more info on making shelves. Also are they bolted on or have slots they sit in.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The front piece is 1x2 rectangle tubing I welded in. I then took some 1” angle and made a frame to go around the outside of the cabinet and let the shelf sit on it. The shelves were leftover shelves out of a cabinet at work but were to long and not deep enough. I cut them down and folded the edges with a hammer and vise. Then I sliced another shelf long ways and scabbed it on the front so the entire shelf is as deep as the top (factory) one. Lots of work but it was fun and not I’ve got a sturdy cabinet.

Made a machine to resize cast bullets a whole lot easier instead of dropping them in by hand one by one. Got the idea from pictures and video I saw on another forum.

Making a bed. Steel frame with cherry wood panels recessed between the framing. Drawers for storage underneath.

The cherry is wood I chainsaw milled from the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. You can see a few boards in the upper right and the stack of lumber in the upper middle through the gap in the headboard frame.

All that with a stick welder too. I thought those were obsolete.....

Well they are mostly ground down now. For indoor furniture (of which this my first made of metal) I prefer the smooth look. Let me just say the welds are sturdy and they don't look half bad. With 6011, they can only look so good anyway. Stack of dimes.

Ill post an update when I get the cherry installed.

That clamp is a bit pricy but seems to be a real problem solver. Thanks for sharing!

I see you have a two pound coffee can hanging on your peg board? How'd you do that?

Where did you get those brackets? Make them? Buy them? I'm thinking you made 'em. Love to see a detailed close up!

Has anyone ever made up a set of wheel dollies, as shown, to move a car around the shop? Looks like a fun project. Ones shown are ~ $100

You can't hardly buy the casters for what the dollies cost. If you need them, buy them. It will be more expensive to make them.

I've been working on some stainless lately. It's not something I weld very often. I mostly work in steel and aluminum.

If those are HF, I would build some rather than buy and rebuild those.
They work o.k. on light cars but worked like **** on my old 65 Cutlass.
I have talked to some who have trued wheels and shimmed them.
BMX build and post!

I replaced the bottom of this bucket last spring, finally got the machine to sit still long enough to finish welding on the hardox plates. 3 passes around each plate.

Made up some artsy fartsy trees for hanging jewelry on. I made 4 of these for christmas gifts this year. Each is different from the others.

I am digging that idea.... I need to build something to blend in my rotary phase converter outside.

I am also intrigued by the barn doors in the pic..... tell (show) us the story on those and your place!
