I haven't seen a thread showing your adjustable wrenches. These are great tools that many people think are outdated. But I love them, and think there will always be a use for them. They are a simple design and easy to work on. I buy most all american made adjustable wrenches that I run across at the flea market. So here are a few pics of the wrenches I have. All are used and many abused. I keep several in the truck that are not pictured. I'm also including a picture of the grandaddy to the modern adjustable wrench what I would call a monkey wrench, auto wrench, or bicycle wrench.

Lets see what you have.

Here's my 10" International. The wormgear and pin were missing when I got it from a friend. The finish is worn, but its a very good wrench. The well-worn blue paint is original to this wrench.

I can't be positive there, Hiball. The part # is 999 431 R1. The '999' is a common prefix to IH handtool part numbers. I'm not certain how the rest of the IH part number would correlate with Wright numbers.

Here's some of mine that I keep hanging around in my home shop. There are 3 more at work, and at least 2 in each of the car toolboxes. Have maybe 22, give or take a few. Most of mine are Williams Superjustables, with Diamond and other names thrown in.

An old Diamond Calk Horseshoe Co. 4", says "Diamalloy" on the other side:

diamondcalk.jpg

A 6" Crescent that was recently given to me, an older Craftsman that I bought new (I think), and an 8" Craftsman that I bought the other day to replace my old Craftsman 8" that I lost. (Probably in one of my sons' toolboxes now):

3adjustables.jpg

I used to think that Crescents were pretty good quality, but I'm not all that happy with the newer ones. They grind the noses off of the jaws for reasons not obvious to me, and they seem to be done carelessly & unevenly by hand. And you can see how the hanging hole is punched/drilled out off center from where the depression for the hole was forged, or whatever. Sloppy workmanship. The new 8" Craftsman is OK, but I don't like that sort of goldish tone to the plating. No big deal.

I have a 10" and 12" Proto that are pretty nice, but my favorite of all of them is this 10" Utica:

utica.jpg

This thing is THE most comfortable adjustable I own. It's pretty old, and real easy to operate. It's a combination of the perfect sized adjusting barrel with the perfect knurled surface on it; just works so smoothly with a little light thumb motion. And it was my father's, which makes it more enjoyable.

My favorite are the Proto's along with the ergo Irega. The 'ratcheting' Bostich was a Xmas gift or else it wouldn't be in my box.

I have more but these are a couple oddballs i have lying around i figured i'd contribute.

The little guy is only about 2 inches long, just says Germany on it. Its far from new. Doesnt feel like steel either. Maybe aluminum?

Not too sure about this one other than it looks ancient.

My favorites, I have carried the little 4" Diamalloy in my pocket everywhere I go for years. The "Tiger Grip" is pretty rare.

I use both Knipex pliers and Adjustables everyday and have for 20 years or so. They are certainly not interchangeable for the work I do.

I like it! Might have come in handy yesterday when I was putting a new drain and P-trap in the bathroom. My largest adjustable wrench was just a hair too small for an adjusting ring. Had to use slip-joint pliers instead. Awkward.

That wrench has style LOL

I only have a few, but htis one is my favorite. I is 8" long, but has just over a 1.5" jaw capacity. it is perfect for adjustments to the finger height on the box/pan brake at work. I use it so much, it hangs on a mag strip on the side of my toolbox at work, and everyone seems to be impressed with it when I let them borrow it.

Picked this up last week at HD. Feels solid with slimmer jaws than my Cman pros, with a wide opening and a nice grip.

Looking forward to using it soon.

It'd take me a week to post pictures of all of them I've got. Now that I've made the change to fixed plant work, Crescents are where it's at. In my little "day to day" bag I carry an 8" Husky, 2 12" Protos, a 15" Proto, a 10" Klein spud and I also have a 4" Urrea that I have no clue where in the hell came from that lives on my keyring.

Around the house there's Craftsmans, Macs, Crescents, Protos, a couple of Diamonds, and no telling what else.

That's a great set of Diamonds. I talked my brother into buying a set of three of the plastic coated handle ones in 6",8" and 10" for $20 new. What the heck was I thinking???:lol_hitti:headscrat:headscrat
