Bit of a cheater, it's a flexible shaft that takes 1/4" bits. Bought it for one specific job. Damned if I can remember what it was though.
I forgot that I had a 1/4dr long flex shaft driver. I do remeber why I bought it, For removing heater cores on GM B-bodys.

Is that one of the 48” promotional screwdrivers from years ago (2016?)

I use this Masterforce 24” #2 Phillips all the time in the data center, very handy for reaching into racks…
I have one of these too. Great for adjusting throttle body sync in specific motorcycles (Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom) without removing as much of the bodywork and tank. If you're brave and pure of heart, with eagle vision and steel nerves, you can poke it deep into the bowels and juuuuuuust snake the tip onto the adjuster screw.

But now a REALLY want one of those super-long bit holder drivers. I had no idea such a thing existed but now I need one. Dammit, Garage Journal...

OK, I give up -- can someone provide a link or part number or some sort of lead for an extra-long (24" or so) bit holder screwdriver?

I wish Home Depot still carried these ridgid usa drivers, luckily i bought a lifetime supply when they were being clearanced. It’s too bad the Husky line of usa drivers has ended, they are pretty decent.

Man those Ridgid screwdrivers are hard to find, and often demand a premium. Those long drivers must be even more so. Nice!

My Wiha 1/4" insert bit holder screwdriver is the longest screwdriver I have. It's about exactly 6' long. I apologize in advance for the pics, my camera is currently set up more for macro photography and I didn't want to change it.

If I'm honest, I don't use this bit handle much. The tool is so long compared to the diameter of the shaft, that it often takes one additional full handle revolution before I notice the screw I'm installing has already seated itself fully and stopped turning. It has the same issue when I'm trying to break a tight screw loose.

everyone just gonna pass over this absolute insanity?

man where the hell did you get that? spent some time googling and checking the numbers on the handle couldn’t find anything even close to it, that’s at least 3x as long as the longest driver I’ve ever seen

Questions for you guys...
What do you work on?
How often do you use these extra long drivers?

It's something I don't own and I can't recall ever having the need for them working on cars. But I've often thought about buying a few anyway.

Carburetor or throttle body adjustments on motorcycles are the usual times when I need to reach out and turn something far away. You can save a lot of time and disassembly sometimes. I also have some extra-long metric ball-end hex drivers in 4, 5, and 6mm that have been indispensable for motorcycle work. Flex and wobble extensions in 1/4" drive also come into play quite often.

Hose clamps buried in impossible places and angles are another such situation.

The extra-long flex drivers a few have posted are sold as carburetor adjustment tools for cars. You can avoid the need to remove the air cleaner, and get a better adjustment with the air cleaner in place.

I just bought a 16" slotted screwdriver from my local Carquest. I want to try cleaning the undercarriage on bobcat T 300 with this screwdriver or one similar to it. The downside is these long shaft screwdrivers are expensive. Just my 2 cents.

How does that work with a soft grip or hard handle? Which works better?

I normally use one of my Snap On prybars with the striking cap for that purpose. But a long screwdriver may be easier to use.

I'm a Vessel Megadora fan, including their long screwdrivers.

Note that the two screwdrivers have different colors in the handle and different finish to the chrome plating because the slotted/matte/grey one is older than the crosshead/shiny/black one.
