Nothing out of the ordinary, but it begged me for a summer sun glamor shot after so many decades in the dark.
Square shank, flathead stubby with 4-sided amber handle. 3.25" overall length.
Marked: Duro-Chrome No. 4731

Found in 1951 and 1962 catalogs. By the 1972 catalog it had a different design. In the 1947 catalog this model number was marked "Durolite" instead of "Duro-Chrome".

^ They were producing the yellow handled drivers up to the late 1950s / early 1960s.
At some point between the 1961 catalog and the 1972 catalog, they went to the later design.

The top one looks to be the Danielson design, probably after being bought out by the Plombpire. Maybe 1957?
It is marked "R97" near the hang hole on the side showing.
On the other side, it is stamped FORGED ALLOY STEEL P
On the other side it has 15 and MFD. U.S.A. forged in

So... the likely suspect is the old J.P. Danielson plant again! (I just ran into one of these a week or so back)

Square gullet.
Nice unit. Way nicer than the one in the middle. (I think Indestro outsourced that one as well.)(For that matter, I think they outsourced all their adjustables.)

I might offload that Diamond - it's whacky. The screw holding the adjustment wheel appears to be "stuck" - turning the adjustment wheel turns the screw. Turning the screw turns the adjustment wheel. How do you fix that one?

This early WW2 1/2” drive Indestro set arrived from an eBay seller yesterday. It is missing a 1/2” D-I socket which shouldn’t be a problem. The ratchet is non reversing whIch was a bit of a surprise but at least it came with the drive plug. IMG_9021.jpegIMG_9020.jpegIMG_9022.jpeg
