Here is a box full of fridge stuff.
I don't recall you posting that set before, Otg. I wonder if it's before or after the reefer set I posted awhile back, linked here, and the update (when I acquired an extension to complete it), linked here. EDIT: Reason I say that is the decal is different. Mine has the "Doggone Good Tools" slogan, and the model number is at the top.

The wartime logo is actually a stylized DC in a circle. Alloy Artifacts incorrectly calls it a Circle X.

I had a question from a colleague about the part number of the 1/2” to 3/8” adapters (#492) in my wartime D-I sets so I took some pictures while I had them out together. The sets on the right in the second picture need to be completed. The last picture is of smaller Indestro and Duro marked 1/2” drive D-I socket sets

Thanks much! I just got all that Indestro Super tools from my college buddy from Houston and he thinks his Dad who was a engineer with a nick name of "Tinker" bought all his Indestro stuff at a Western Auto Store in South Houston in the mid 1960's. Yes, The small ignition pliers are my FAVORITE tool in that bunch and are right up there with my 4" Indestro Super adjustable wrench I've had for years now (found on the ground...lol) :bounce:

Excellent tools, and the price was right! Here are some duro tappet wrenches in their original roll.

Well, I tried my best to win the mid 30's trapezoid set. It was really hard not to go over my pre set bidding limit. But obviously somebody wanted them worse than I.

So, the DC 223X series is wartime. What about the nickel(?)-plated 203X series? Earlier, later, both? I notice, too, that while slightly more robust-feeling, the 2036 is about 8% (3/4”) shorter and slightly lighter-weight (just under 4oz) than the 2236 (just over 4oz).

I don’t know if the plated wrenches are prewar or postwar but my best guess would be postwar. The circle DC emblem seems to have been used until 1944. In 1945 the part numbers are prefaced with a G but are still likely to have a wartime finish. Here is one that GPW_42 has coming.

I received these early Indestro Chromium Vanadium tools today and put them in this Indestro box with the early non reversing Indestro ratchet with plug that I bought recently. The small sockets are branded the same but are a different design. The Chrome sockets look a lot like the former mystery Wards Riverside 1/4” drive sockets.

Here's an interesting durochrome 699 pat pending ratchet. Head looks sealed. Still works good.

Those are hard to find. Looks on good shape. Usually the selectors are beat up pretty bad.

Looking for the following Plomb Pebbles Wrench 3061

The selector is easily removed. No apparent way to disassemble otherwise. I can see why they quit making it.

Nice ratchet. It’s been one of the most elusive for me. Usually seem to be too pricey, or beat up as R Olson said. That one looks good.
A ratchet that 3bay doesn't have!?! One will show up soon enough.

I found some Duro Chrome DBE's at an estate sale Friday. A 2013 A and two 2014 A's. All have "G" date codes.

All you fine folks have caused me to add Indestro in my tool scan at estate sales.
Thanks.
Thanks a lot.

Here's what I picked up a few days ago.

10 Nov 19-4.jpg10 Nov 19-5.jpg

From what I've read, the 8099 Torque Wrench was produced in 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4. Mine is the 1/2" model. I know in the 1970 catalog the 1/2" wrench has a bridge scale versus the slide scale on mine. I therefore infer that mine is earlier that '70. Can anyone estimate when it might have been produced? Thanks.

I have the 1/2" and 3/4" versions of them. My handle is more yellow than orange though.

I have the Duro 1/4" torque wrench - It has a finger ring pull

Old Radar: well if you want to make it easier on yourself just start looking for vintage MADE IN USA and then if you want to grab any MADE IN ENGLAND and MADE IN GERMANY stuff that's up to you. so far it's worked for me and i've got several storage units to prove it.

ALL: for some reason this thread wasn't still on my list cause i always like to see new posts of these old tools.

thanks again for sharing!!
