I would pay good money for a custom made pouch like that, especially if I didn’t have to worry about it getting lost on a ship somewhere!

I will let her know that.

My favorite Indestro ebay seller just shipped me a nice little "Select" box (for a 3/8" drive set) along with a very uncommon 2807S 7/32" 4-point socket and a 2755A 3/8" drive 1/8" hex bit socket:

Indestro Select box 2807S 7.32 4-pt socket 2755A 1.8 hex bit socket.jpg
Mark Stansbury did some investigating on the "Select Steel" LOGO:
TM 733592 Indestro Mfg. Corp. Select Steel USPTO 1962.jpg
Indestro Mfg. Corp. "Select Steel" TM 733592 05/26/61

(* that's just on THAT particular logo. it does NOT apply to earlier "Select Steel" wrenches or other Indestro products. *)

^ I have one of those green boxes with that decal - I believe the box is empty. The sockets are in "grab bags" somewhere in the garage - I have dozens of them out there somewhere. ;)

^ that does not appear to me to be a Duro-Chrome or Indestro made item.

==

* not necessarily "hot" *

My favorite Ebay Indestro seller just listed quite a few items - all onesie-twosies - of Indestro, S-K, Craftsman, Blue-Point, Bonney, Herbrand, and a fabulous pair of Eagle Claw pliers, among other things.

Great guy to do business with. He usually gives me a fair discount depending on number of items purchased. Well worth a look if you need to fill holes.

YMMV

1452 was originally a 19-piece set. Shouldn't be too difficult to round up the missing pieces. You have the drive adapter, which is the unicorn in that set.

Estate sale partial Duro-Chrome set. I haven't yet found what set they may have been part of. The sets I've seen so far in archive.org catalogs don't have 12pt sockets along with 4pts. One bonus is that I found a D-I 3/8dr partial set a few weeks ago that had a tommy bar that fits the 4550. Can anyone say this is Cadmium? Looks a little too dark to me, but I don't know what else it would be.

Mr. Stansbury just sent this to me:

^ You may have noted that in both the Chicago Tribune artlcle of July 23 1992 and the artlcle posted at "The Made in Chicago Museum" website that the founding date of Indestro Manufacturing Corporation was 1917.

I picked up a set of Duro-Chrome 2111 laying in the road today. They were in the middle of one of the busier intersections in town. I had to dodge 6 lanes of traffic on one side and 4 lanes on the other side, but I would not be deterred...

Found this fun pouch at Surplus Tools Denver. Doubt I will ever be able to fill it with the correct D/I tools, but even the correct NSN tools may prove elusive, as all my metrics are combos. But it was quite cool and clean, and oh so expensive.

Edit: Just noticed that the sizes on the roll don't match the sizes in the NSN record. It calls for
METRIC WRENCHES SIZE 6 X 8, 7 X 9, 10 X 11, 12 X 14, 13 X 15 AND 17 X 19MM. Errors in Bold

I earlier mentioned my observations about the individual Indestro ignition wrenches becoming orphans (see post #2009, page 51).
Indestro was also packaging single magneto wrenches on cards at least as early as 1935, which would in part account for the number of those seen in the second-hand market.
1935 Indestro catalog pp 41.jpg
1935 Indestro catalog pp 41 ignition tools and wrenches

They also made a 3-piece magneto wrench set which was held together with a small knurled screw:

Only one wrench is threaded (10-32). The other two are punched with 15/32" round holes:

Indestro 208 spark plug wire feeler gauge (or 208C in the package, which had previously been opened. looks like it may have been used once.)

Thanks for the continuing catalog analysis, four.cycle!
I had suspicions, but was not positive these were Indestro.

^ As I noted above, only one of the wrenches was threaded. The other two just have round holes punched in them. That they were sold simply stapled to a piece of cardboard in part explains why there are so many orphans in the second-hand market.

Hole is a bit smaller

Actually, looking at the holes in Lesser-son's wrenches, they both look smaller than the two drilled to clear the little screw. Yet, the Delco wrench doesn't look tapped. I assume they were consistent with which wrench got threaded, but maybe not. Someone sort of counter-sunk the threaded hole on my Delco wrench, but fortunately there are enough threads to catch the screw.

This ratchet came from a San Jose eBay seller today as a throw in along with some. Plomb sockets I needed. It‘s appearance is quite different from most of the non-reversing D/I ratchets I’ve seen. 8ADC4916-E159-4559-B83D-8B3FDA197358.jpeg

^ In the Duro Ratchet? thread, where I posted all those photo images of various models I'd harvested from ebay listings, I think it became evident that "paintbrush handle" model was made for Ward's "Riverside" label.
One of several "complete" Riverside sets that was listed on ebay:

^ I'm pretty confident that I connected that handle style to the Wards "Riverside" label because of the instances where it was included with sockets stamped "Riverside". It was this set below that clinched it (for me, anyway):
(Sorry, these were in a "Wards" folder. The photos above are in an "Indestro" folder.)
(Thanks, btw - you reminded me I need to re-organize the "Wards" folder.)

I think I have one of those in a riverside set. Was not sure it came with it but based on this info I am guessing it did

I got this today in the mail from whatchamacallit tools on ebay. It's an NOS Indestro 360 which is from the late 60s or early 70s I would guess. The cadmium plating on the sockets was dark and dull so I polished them (by hand) with Flitz. I have before and after pictures, except on the before picture I had already polished the 7/16, before I realized that I should take a before picture.
