I like that Klein outlet tester. My old 3 light tester has a loose internal connection and my other one is with my lost 10mm sockets.
Wonder why it needs a battery. You need almost no power to hold an LCD. A small capacitor will hold the display forever. Maybe they want to power the backlight.

Dammit, I just ordered one. For $20 it's worth it!

Picked this up at hf today, unfortunately they don’t have replacement drums yet, but the manager gave me 20% off since they didn’t have any drums. Quick test and seems like good power, doesn’t bog down and lots of drums available online.

Yeah, I'm not sure, I guess to cut down on having to add another circuit inside for the LCD & voltage display? But one thing the battery does is that you can unplug it from the outlet & it will hold the test readings for a short time which can be handy in places where you can't see the display when plugged in the outlet.

Warranty 3/8 ratchet from Stanley they where absolutely awesome to deal sending a new one right away. This is replacing the one in my truck that got wet for extended periods of time to often. Sunex crowfoot that I needed last week I got from the jungle warehouse deals.

Anyone here have experience using those Sunex crows feet? Definitely something I rarely use so going the cheap route is fine, but I'd like to know if they work or are a waste of money.

...Returned the Fluke socket tester I got recently & picked up the Klein one. I like this one so much better even though it requires batteries. But because it does it has a hold feature which will be handy for confined areas. Has quick glance green & red indicators. Display shows voltage & what the fault is rather than having to decifer indicator combos to figure out what the fault is.



Some 8" extension cords. Yes you read that right, 8 inch shorty cords. Years ago I wanted/needed something like these but didn't think they existed. So I never bothered to even search for them & the cost to make my own was not worth it. I still laugh looking at them but they'll come in handy for me.

I have that Klein tester, and completely agree with you - it's my favorite one. Being able to check voltage at multiple outlets VERY quickly without a multimeter was a huge bonus in rewiring my garage.

Don't know your use case, but I use a ton of these things -- they come in really handy when you have transformer plugs or odd-shaped plugs going into surge protectors or UPS systems or even just tight areas. Great product.

I use those as well for EXACTLY the same purpose. Stupid 1-amp transformer blocks that are enormous for no reason whatsoever.

Finally found the icon bit ratchet set, they go quick. Feels well made, really nice case and using it like a tee handle is a nice feature. Might have to invest in some icon tools, their fit and finish is very nice, if the steel is just as good they should be good tools. These will make nice little stocking stuffers,lol.

Snap-on Thursday today folks. My favorite day of the week besides Friday lol. 4 pairs of socks. Two for me and two for the brother in law who loves the socks just like I do. Got a shirt too for free well at least they make you think it’s free lol . And then 4 pairs of pliers. Probably didn’t need two of them but things happen lol. Flank drive slip joints. Really cool actually they can take bolts off. Regular slip joints as that’s another pair of pliers that I haven’t ever had a nice pair of. I bought the new needle nose ones too and they had some free cheaper feeling socks with them lol. I can’t remember what the name is but my neighbor showed me them originally and I wanted a set ever since. Unfortunately they don’t have orange yet but that’s ok red is the next best I guess. Then a pair of flush cutters. Went on there intending to order the big set of snap ring pliers but totally forgot lol. I was excited for these plus my apprentice was there with me he bought a really nice dark titanium 1/2 air impact. It’s a heavy beast but it zips them off way faster than his Earthquake one. He and I both forgot to get more pocket screwdrivers lol.

A couple of new Construction levels, i usually always buy stabila, but these backlighted empire ones looked decent. Nicely machined sides, lights are crisp and i can now see the vial in low light conditions and i like they use AA batteries.

Nice, I've been really curious about those & really wanted to buy a set. The only thing holding me back besides the price (anyone besides Matco selling these yet?) is I have no idea how I would be able to sharpen those. Not being able to sharpen them is a deal breaker for me.

Step drills I'd just throw away & replace but that doesn't seem like a good option for these.

I ordered it Monday and had it drop-shipped directly to my buddy, who is doing the work on my vehicles, and has mentioned several times in the recent past his difficulty accessing components and fasteners in tight spaces.
He called me a bit ago to tell me he'd received it, and noted that he believed whoever had designed it did their homework.
He also mentioned something about "Now I can finally get to [something-or-other] on my Roadrunner."
So far so good, FWIW.

I was told you can’t sharpen these. Brother in law recommended them. He’s been using his set for almost a month and says they are great. Got them from techs choice tools as they have free shipping and no out of state taxes.

Not sure if I would get a combo tip bit like that, I guess it depends what you're drilling, Interested to see how you like them.

I know the mechanics at work use them which is why I got them. They ain’t
Snap-on but for the amount I’ll use them they should be fine.

Had a set, they were backups to my Snap-ons. Grabbed them as much as the snap-ons. This was in a shop
environment. Held up just fine. I am getting ready to order another set,

The head/bit socket looks similiar to my Wera and some other bit ratchets. There is a lip that prevents the hex bit from passing all the way through, well the hole is not large enough for a hex bit to fit through.

I'm pretty sure all the other similar bit ratchets are like this. It would be very annoying if there wasn't any sort of stop to prevent the bit from passing though.

I picked up that same micro the other week. Used it on a curtain rod for the wife to try it out (screws facing against the wall) and was noticing what I thought was a lot of back drag compared to my nicer ratchets (Matco 88, dual 80). Maybe more noticeable due to shorter leverage/lighter How’s yours, did you have to oil it?
