Supposedly, they work decently for keeping rust out, at a pretty decent price. I used to keep them in all my toolboxes as a teenager, as my local pharmacy carried big packs of them for next-to-nothing.
They work well for rust prevention and keeping rodents away. I also think they help keep spiders out. I swear I have a large pack of them somewhere, but I haven't spotted them in the last year. I just cut a slit in the wrapping of a cube, and put them with my tools. At first I did one in every toolbox drawer, but that was overkill.

This arrived via the Brown-Shorts Santa yesterday:

Thing is, I didn't order it.

I was showing off my franken-drill press to a friend last week. I complained that my otherwise nice DIY machine lamp was an irritating light color--about 2,500K--and could be brighter. He mentioned that he had one that was daylight-balance and bright and promised to send me a link to it. He never did, but I guess he just sent me the lamp instead--NIB! I'll have to buy a beer or twenty.

Single switch, single mode--on or off.

Magnet seems plenty strong--the RR anvil weighs 15 lb.

54745255129_018d5a2671_o.jpg

I hate that style of wall-wart PS. It doesn't play well with packed double-gang boxes. No problem as I have a box full of old PSs out in the container. Just find out what the output is...

Well, that could be a little more informative... I'll live with it for now.

Now to figure out where to mount it:

54745034106_fff06eae91_o.jpg

It has a V-base, so fits the skinny column of my DP fairly well--unless I want to lower the table any more. The cast-aluminum head of my DP limits mounting options--unless I decide to drill and tap the head for it and use the mag base for something else. Might just do that.

It sure is plenty bright, but a little higher light color--6,500K--than the rest of my shop lighting, so not ideal for photography--I like multi-purpose tools.

All in all, a pretty nice machine light.

I have been wanting to get both of those sets. The comfort grip wrenches I feel are a game changer.

Have any feedback? Hands feel better?

Love the short rad picks!
No actual use yet, bit doing suspension on a 2014 Pilot, so they should get some use soon.
I have the Xl combos from Snap On and they add a solid 1 or 2" of usable length because of the handle....WAAAAY more comfortable than grabbing the open end. I'm looking forward to holding them while impacting the other end of stuff!

I am envious and thats the reason I want them too! I know that these get a lot of hate but I think that is because people really do not understand their designed purpose - or even held the other end of a good impact!

...and this just arrived as well. I've had a monster torque M18 impact forever and a light torque M18 hex, but been wanting to step into a M12 mid torque for a while... And with 550/400 ft lbs, my guess is the big boy 1100/700 ft lb M18 will rarely see the light of day?

Added one Dual80 standard length flex head ratchet for work. I wanted a non-locking flex to cover all my needs should my Hazet HiPer fail. I also wanted a tool truck ratchet explicitly for the warranty as so many of my other work ratchets have blown the internals. I’m not the biggest fan of the Dual80s (I find them crunchy when I’m using them in certain situations) and I would’ve probably gone with the MAC Axis to save a couple of bucks but the dude just dropped off the face of the Earth. Snappy is always there when I need him so he continues to get my business.

My driver also got me on the electric pink 100 tooth set. He knows I’m a sucker for pink. Got them on promo and I traded in a chrome handle flex for an extra $100 off. I love the comfort grip to the standard chrome. Yes it will get fuzzy and stuff but it just fits my hands so much better. Plus I haven’t had any issues wiping them clean. The only complaint thus far, the heads are floppy as hell on the smaller ratchets. Only the extra long is nice and stiff.

Yes I can confirm they are made by Lang
Pretty sure they are made by Kastar

EDIT: A bit of googling seems Kastar was a Lang company for more professional grade products. Back in 2011 the Lang family (A&E Incorporated) consolidated their other brands, Kastar, HiTech, and Star, under the Lang Tools name. I don't recall reading that before. I still see the Kastar branded sets available from time to time.

Yes.
But... do you have THIS?:

(my buddy continues to tell me how much he loves it.)

I also have these and use them a lot. They are very low profile and allow you to use smaller ratchets on a larger socket drive. This can be very handy in confined areas. Particularly after breaking something free. They also are cheap and seem durable enough. I use them pretty hard sometimes with impact with no issues. In particular, I have a DeWalt 3/8 impact and I use the 3/8 to 1/2 adapter in suspension and wheel lug nuts very frequently without a hint of issues in stuff that would twist 1/4 hex to 1/2 impact adapters into a pretzel.

FTR:
Lang / Kastar / A&E = all one and the same outfit.

FTR:
The Snap-on Tool Company of Kenosha, Wisconsin is Lang's biggest customer. They are OE on that rethreader kit as well as many other items they re-brand for Snap on. (pers. comm. / phone / citation)

RE: That set of "Titan" low-profile drive reducers:

My buddy doesn't usually give me any feedback on the tools I give to him until several months (or years) have passed by, and then it's generally only a passing comment. He has been quite happy with those and has admitted to pounding the hell out of one of them. He's commented to me several times about them. For the price point, you can't beat the Titan stuff.

DEEP in the rusty rust of rust belt
Picked up a Koken 3/8 z ratchet set. I reall only work on my wifes car, my car, and my project car and for me its 3/8 for 95% of the car work and the other 5% is 1/2 M18 bolt ripper from hell for rust belt underbody/suspension work.
I colored filled the socket sizes.
Really mad that this is a skip size set and they don't make those sockets in skipped sizes. (not that I need those sizes my brain is just made that 9mm and 20mm is missing.
