Klein LAN Scout® Jr. 2 ethernet cable tester VDV526-200
On its own, it verifies the cable and displays the detail of any fault/mistake. It can also generate tones for tracing cables with a separately available probe. The short patch cables were separate, essential for testing installed sockets end to end. The range includes one more basic and two more advanced ones.

That little retractable scraper is my favorite out here in the Wide World of Trucking. I use it to scrape off adhesive HazMat placards. It works great. I need to buy a few more in case they ever discontinue them. I wish I knew who the OEM is.

Some seriously valuable wisdom here...

It can be best for DIY use to have a USA Vermont American quality level set covering most occasional needs and eventualities and replace specific sizes in that set that you use a lot with higher quality ones. Then you do not break the bank to cover stuff you only use a little, have good coverage for what might come up from time to time, and also have good ones for the sizes that you use a lot.

By the way, some of the people showing tap and die pics should oil + clean them more before storage. When they rust, it degrades the cutting edges. I try to wipe mine down with something like WD-40 after use and then store them somewhere dry. Surface rust will mess up a good quality top or die and it is much easier to prevent than to try and address it or resharpen after it starts rusting. It is also not a good idea to let cutting oil and grime harden into a sludge on them. They usually clean up pretty easily if done right after use.

I use lots of cutting oil when I use them. They never rust. I blow the swarf off before putting them away.

I keep an oily old 1" HF chip brush with my taps and dies to brush them off before putting them away.

I just got my USA made Irwin tap & die set from Menards.





I also got this set of press and pull sleeve. Made pressing in bushings a breeze for my suburban



I also got a couple fluid extractors. The Four Uncles pneumatic/manual makes changing ATF a lot less messy. I just used this week to drop the pan on my OBS C1500, so much quicker and easier, but mainly no mess. If you don't have one get one.



The OMT fluid extractor will be great when changing brake and P/S fluid.

Weekend Marketplace score! Guy across town listed this like new Sears/Craftsman 3 tier tool box w/ keys and I jumped on it immediately. I cleaned it up, put a coat of wax on it and cut some new drawer liners. Less than $400 total invested.
