Also I'm not sure what's up with that 1/2" ratchet, but I'm not digging the mechanism in the least. I sure hope it just needs lube, but right now I'm sorry I purchased it the way it is.

That ratchet is the older, non-maxx version. Personally, I'm not a fan. It should be durable, just not as smooth as the newer 88T ratchets.

Those Koken sockets are nice. It's a shame Koken isn't more prevalent here in America.

Alright dude, WTF is that all about??. :dunno: :p

Heh, it's a 3x reduction gear for Metabo drills.

You can basically triple the torque output of the Metabo drills (~3000 in-lbs for the brushed model, ~2400 in-lbs for the brushless) if you need it. I bought it mostly so I can safely mix concrete, but they have some demonstrations of it driving 2-1/2 foot long screws as well. If I needed that kinda power though, I'd probably break out an impact wrench.

Might be the world's most boring video:

LOL, that's classic. I thought it might be that, but considering it's a cordless thought........oh no damn way. hahahahahaha. Even my 1/2" hole hog doesn't have a arm like that.

I have had the camouflage snap on booster pack for about 5 years and love it.

You are thinking of this one's little brother the EEJP500, they don't make the 24 volt option in the camo, I asked.

This one weighs 44 pounds and has 2 gauge cables the other one is 28 pounds with 4 gauge cables. I could not believe the difference, but I wanted 24 volt capabilities for my 5 ton truck.

The Germans don't mess around, 3000 in lbs is just about 250 ft-lbs of constant torque.

On a regular 8 inch handle, that's 375 lbs of force. I don't know what OSHA requirements are, but that's enough to spin you around like a top if it catches, hence the handle length.

Gear reductions are serious, don't mess with physics.

Hole hawgs are about 10x the rotation speed, and 1/10th the torque. Drilling wood isn't really about torque.

Well after watching the vid, the handle isn't anywhere near as long as your picture makes it look. For sure one of dem dar optical confusion moments. But your comment about the hole hawg is pretty funny. Granted at high speed yes sir, torque is greatly reduced. Low speed surely you jest relative to a cordless drill. Metebo makes some of the finest tools in the world, no argument there but it's not going to compare to a HH on low speed. K, sorry bout the highjack guys.

I did. It wasn't a special price but the only way I could find these sizes with free shipping. This is to add to my "set" I got last year from HJE. That set annoys me as it only has two phillips drivers. One really long, and one stubby:dunno:? Not I feel better. I do use Astro Pneumatic, and Craftsman drivers as well. There's so many good choices out there, it's hard to choose.

If you're in the market from some, look at the newer type of Proto's. They're supposed to be chemical resistant and look awesome.

Gotcha. Thanks man. Looks to be a pretty nice set.

I have "quit" buying tools but I did treat myself to these a while ago, and because of the lack of description I won an auction on a TL72, FL80, and SL80A for a little over a c-note. Needless to say, I was very happy.

Well half good ole quality USA HJE SK and Armstrong goodness and half Sushi. Funny, I ordered the Koken tools about a week+ after the HJE weekend and was wondering who's would come first. Looks like a dead tie :). Also I'm not sure what's up with that 1/2" ratchet, but I'm not digging the mechanism in the least. Looky, I made the deadline for the badass SK shirt!.

Nice looking Zeals

I wish we had Menards in Texas. What a blast from the past seeing proudly USA-made store brand tools.

It is hard to come by in all these big box stores. A few things here and there. That's why I went with Masterforce. Needed a cheaper set of sockets. Having USA as the COO was what made up my mind.

I guess y'all missed the lawsuit that some dude, in the Menard's deals thread, filed about falsely advertising made in USA products. ;)

Got a new Wilton vise today. So excited! The old one gave up the ghost a long time ago.

And here is my new to me drill press. Went through two of my uncles, now it's mine. Just needed a very very good cleaning.

And I know our shop is a mess. We have been busy.

Snap On guy day - I'd forgot till he texted.

Pliers rack - all blame lies on Strouty for posting his rack up. The 410 hulls & ready rod worked, but not really as well as I wanted.

#'s 3, 4, & 5 on the 3/8" wobble extension hunt. Only 1 left at this point.

Elusive HD early model twin cam oil funnel. Only elusive since neither the driver or I remember to pick it up. This trip, we both remembered.

Bill

Picked up a cross peen hammer at the flea market this weekend. Needed a new handle, went to old fashioned hardware store Ace @ 10th & Arlington in Indy, and picked up a Seymour replacement handle for it and the cross peen (blue head) I already had (Plumb). Does anyone recognize the maker's mark on the hammer head?

Terrible phone pics of today's haul, lot of knipex goodies, innova multi meter for home, schrade knife, stretch belt tools, proto 3/8 and 1/2 air impact ratchets, and down on the floor, an otc engine support.

Snap-On 3/8 metric set. Shallow, mid-length, and deep.

1zpi90k.jpg

Finally scored an Assenmacher funnel kit. I'd been staring at their full size funnels since they came out but didn't want a bunch of funnels lying around then they came out with this kit which solves that. That said I couldn't stomach the price of the Snap-On or Matco version ($100+).

Skin, was that set on special? I am ordering 4 of them. One each metric and sae 6 and 12 point. They are like $525 each from my dealer. Curious to see what others are paying.

Skin,
What's the part number on the 3/8 metric set? Is it also available in SAE?

246AFSM. They are on special for around $500. I think list is something crazy, like north of $1000. I negotiated a bit lower :). Some of it is kind of redundant, I mainly wanted the filler deeps I didn't have, and I don't have shallows. The rest is going to be sold off. Not sure if they're in SAE, I didn't see any others.

VIM Tools 34 Piece Torx Master Set:
ZnSvsnu.jpg

These are "1/2" Cut" torx sockets.
nbVd77W.jpg

They feel very high quality and I'm really happy with the set. The only thing that seems a bit iffy is the right clasp on the blow mold case is kinda mangled. I'm not sure if it just didn't come out of the mold right or if it got messed up during assembly. It does close but isn't like the left side. Still, a minor issue and nothing to really complain about. I'll definitely be looking to VIM again for more tools. I'm thinking I'll start hunting for a hex socket set next.

Now for the crown jewels:

Wright 958 18 Piece Full Polish Metric Wrench Set

These things are gorgeous. They feel oh so good. I cannot wait to get a chance to use them. From the smallest to the largest and even the tool roll exudes quality. I went back and forth on these things for a month trying to decide if I should really spend the money on them and now I'm so glad I did. Now there's no question of if I should buy the SAE set, but when.

Skin how much was that funnel kit if you don't mind me asking

It was used (once) and $50. The stupid thing is still a truck exclusive so you cant find it anywhere else other than the Matco and Snap-On man.

Oh maaaaaan. Those look like they'd be great in the hand. I hate how thin snappy wrenches are. Those look awesome.
I agree 100%. I started using S&K for that reason many years ago.

But those look GREAT!!!!! I will keep my eyes peeled for some of those.

This is replacing my Craftsman that ran without a problem for about 15 years until it died. I rode that Craftsman HARD for YEARS. I have 0 complaints about how reliable it was. I will be using the tank in my system. I will do my best to cover my install this week.

Ive had this for a couple of months. I held my snappy guy to the ropes until I got the deal I wanted. He also buys in bulk and gets a really good price on most everything. Hes really a great guy and cuts me some very nice deals

Too bad Wright doesn't have an extra long available.I'd also like to see a DOE in Wright- Grip. Those could be real handy.Maybe make them 4 way 30/60 since Snap-Ons patent ran out
