Antique Engine, we've got a lot in common judging by your new tools. I have the same set of Williams Supercombos, the same set of Williams screwdrivers, and the Vessel Megadoras (I spy one in your screwdriver drawer). All good stuff!

Indeed. I think they are all good, sensible choices. You get good quality at prices about 25% of tool truck.

Where did you source your USA super combos from?

ToolsDelivered.com. The wrench set was 155 dollars or thereabouts. I order from ToolsDelivered every two weeks (payday). In the last few months I've gotten a ton of good made in USA Williams tools from them.

Folks on here will argue and fight over the whole SnapOn versus Williams, which is simply SnapOn industrial tools. I don't care, they can argue until they are blue in the face. I made my living for a lot of years with SnapOn tools that I collected (all were used) from wherever I could. They are still fantastic tools and I won't ever sell them. But, that said, I'm replacing a bunch of them with Williams now. Williams tools seem to bring passionate arguments on this board, but I'll just say that my new Williams tools are head and shoulders nicer than my 25-50 year old beat up SnapOn tools are. Warranty ? I haven't broken a tool in decades. Since I'm not working flat rate anymore I don't feel the need to do sketchy stuff that used to cause me to break tools. Now I slow down, think about it, and choose an appropriate tool to do the job. I'm getting towards retirement and just do sideline work out of my shop about 3 days a week now, so it all works well for me.

My latest purchases.

Had to get the Lisle tool and craftsman shipped from the states, simply not available in Europe.

The Mac stuff are other things i have had my eye on for a while but it turned out to be easier to buy from Mac than import them.

The 48 oz hammer is a beast!

Picked up a new air hose from Rural King. I had a rebate that paid for it and stopped by Menard's to grab a few things, including a cheap blow nozzle. It gives me one for each of the three main drops that I use.

I think I will pick up a reel for this air hose since it's a fifty footer.

I only did a mock-up for now just to see how much room it needs, still need to clear a space for it in the garage.
First proper use should be in about a good week or so.
Will let you know if this works better than the 2 threaded rods of fear. :)

I curious as well and how it compares to the Branick versions.

Thanks for the idea on toolsdelivered.com. I have that same metric deep set from Williams on my Father's Day list.

Unfortunately these guys are made in china... but they are made of strong steel. They left a decent indent mark when i tried them on a piece of steel..

Amazon, $399 delivered. There's also a license key you can enter (can find it free online) that will upgrade most of the features up closer to their higher end 'scopes. They're the same hardware.. just a licensing difference to keep the features down on the lower end one. I don't know the specifics, but if you google DS1054Z you'll probably find it.

Hoping to mess with it some more this evening. Sure is a lot nicer than my old USB one though!

I believe there is also a way to up its bandwidth to 100MHz? Or maybe it was only in the old version, but you may want to google it if interested.

just sockets or across the line?

identical to s/o or just similar?

thx!

All of the USA Williams tools are nice. The sockets and screwdrivers are nearly identical to the Snap On equivalent. So much so that many people debate as to whether or not the Snap On tools aren't simply relabeled and sold at a steep premium. Supercombo wrenches are good in their own way. The beams do seem to get abnormally thick in the larger sizes. I'm sure others here have experience with the other types of Williams hand tools.

Picked up an Oshlun 8" stacked dado set on Amazon Warehouse for $80ish. The blades are pristine ... the box it was originally packed in was damaged. My first project will be making a small box to store it. It weighs over 10 pounds.

Also got a deal on ATD x-long flex head SAE reversible ratcheting wrenches... The wrenches are clean... the tray was destroyed... saved me $20... I don't use wrench "trays" anyway so no worries for me.

So when you keep up on your payments your Snap-On man occasionally will give you some of the strangest ( yet still kinda cool ) ****.

I think much like the NFL, Snap-On will put their name on the strangest things.

That said, it is pretty cool.
It has three speeds, a timer, auto off, and a UV light to kill the bacteria on the tooth brush. ( supposedly )

A few recent additions to the collection.

Father in law gave me this cool Wilde plug gap tool.

Blue Trusty Cook hammers are new along with the blem Model 3 on top. Shown next to the Snap-On 40 oz and 3 lb Estwing driller for reference. I really like the small heads on the Trusty Cooks. I didn't really understand why they were selling a 47 oz (2nd from right) and a 50 oz (far right), but now I see that they have different handle lengths. My go-to hammer for tight spaces is that Estwing and I switch to the Snap On when I have space. The Estwing is a little too short to swing comfortably when you aren't confined though. I think that 47 oz is going to be my new go-to hammer for just about everywhere.

I also picked up a Power Probe 3 to chase down a few electrical gremlins I've been avoiding on our DDs.

Trusty Cook also makes stubby hammers, great for getting in tight areas. ;)

I wish the Husky set sockets only had the knurling on the base of the metric sockets but, then I guess they would be too much like Gearwrench sockets if they did that:dunno: Please post how you like the 100 tooth ratchet.

I'm really curious what it actually looks like. Any pics of it out of the box?
