I just thought that it would be another length option.

I have ignition wrenches, stubby wrenches, short pattern wrenches, standard combination wrenches, long pattern wrenches, really long DBE’s… and a bunch of other options… and as I said my Craftsman 6pt are between short pattern and regular pattern combination wrenches.

If I find Snap-on 6pt wrenches at an estate/garage sale… clean… and for cheap… I will still buy them.

Gotchya. Another thing to consider is these are available only in flank drive (not flank drive plus). There are times I avoid using the flank drive plus open end to prevent leaving bite marks in the fastener. These are now my longest non-flank drive plus open ended wrenches, which was a welcomed addition.

Probably shouldn’t have but I did…. Lol. I am really impressed with it though it’s very powerful and light. I got it for a good price. Not full retail. I’m also happy because I lost my power blue screwdriver so he called Snap-on and had them immediately ship another one and he is giving it to me free even though lost tools aren’t covered. I left my screwdriver in the car that I got the Oklahoma license plate from. I had sat it down in the floorboard to check the cabin filter and forgot it. It happens though I’m just happy to get a $30 something dollar screwdriver for nothing haha. I also got some beef jerky free as well. Believe me i would never pay full retail for one of their impacts. This is the 3/8. I was going to get an Aircat but I’m happy with this one as well. I passed it around and it gets approval by all my coworkers too haha. Wish it was a different color than red though but it is a nice treat to myself. Better than green that’s for sure. I’ve been wanting a 3/8 impact for awhile. I’ll be asking for a Milwaukee for my birthday probably. Don’t give me too much heat like I said I didn’t pay full price for it and never would.

Fuuuck I can hear the noise that thing makes already. One of my least favorite noises coming from an impact under load. Probably the only drawback about them though.

Hands down my favorite 3/8" impact gun. I had the IM31 for about 25+ years but when it needed to be rebuilt about 8 years or so ago I opted to trade up to the MG325 and is still one of my most used pneumatic tools to this day. The only thing I preferred with the IM31 was the fwd/rev. lever which was located on the back. I preferred it to the slider fore and aft style valve control on the MG325.

Hey There you are! I was getting all worried about you since I hadnt seen you post any goodness in a while. I agree orange woudl have been a better color :) . Snappy impacts are overpriced at full retail but if you got a discount I think you did ok! I dont mind the sound of a wide open impact because that means stuff is hitting the fan and it's going down but then again, I have hearing loss from wide open impacts so that could be a problem :)

That astro light is my go to when working on the cars. I have the charging mat for it too so I always know right where it is and its always ready to go when I need it.

I completely agree about the direction switch. I prefer the lever style that you just flip one direction. I kept telling myself I’d never buy a Snap-on impact because of the one I got used from 2000 and they told me it couldn’t be rebuilt since parts were obsolete but I decided to give this one a go. I also like the boot it comes with as well. Normally for my air tools I get composite for the lightness but I’m happy with the weight of this one. It breaks stuff loose no problems. Now I just need to get some shallow 3/8 impact sockets. Have deeps just no shallow.

My curiosity finally got the best of me and i decided to try some Topdon product... The topology capability of this will be beyond what my current Autel MaxiPro MP808 can do and should prove interesting, along with some other features...

Will be interested to hear more. I've got the Innova 5160rs, and I like it OK, but don't love it...

Great choice! I've using the same exact model little less than a year. Other than not auto recognizing VIN# on some of my older model cars, it's been awesome.

Harbor Freight, Auto store, or pawnshop for the shallows? I think my shallows are harbor Freight and Duralast.

Haha maybe a mix of everything haha. Usually don’t find many impact sockets at the pawn shop though. I guess cause everyone has chrome some may not have impacts. HF is probably best value for the money the auto parts stores tend to be expensive but they are good tools.

I think I went Tekton for metric deeps because no skips. I’ll have to look in shop tomorrow. I don’t use every day like you.

Tekton has nice impact sockets. I have many of them. As much as I do prefer shopping in store Tekton is a good online option so is Capri which I have the 3/8 deep in.

I started with German tools which exposed me to GJ which led me to MiUSA tools and then I found the Japanese tools thread and now I have been super happy with my Japanese tools so far.

Picked this up last night just to hold all the Milwaukee cordless. Needed the deep drawers for some of the bigger items. $750 for SnapOn is getting into Harbor Freight prices.
