New stuff Saturday! Couple of socket sets, some loose one to fill in gaps, new cordless ratchet and the thread repair set (vs tap and dies) recommended by this forum!

Some new tools today. First up warranty replacement impact adapters from Capri Tools. Had two of them fail. They had them in the mail same day and they arrived in the mailbox today. That was Thursday afternoon that I contacted them. Can’t beat that short of a wait especially coming from the other side of the United States. Then an SAE 3/8 socket tray have **** loads of sockets in general and majority of them are SAE which I do still use. Just trying to get all 2,000+ sockets on trays and rails. That way it’s easier to keep track of everything and inventory it all. Then also picked up three sockets two to complete some sets and the 10mm just because it was the last one lol. We were at the Rural King in Martinsville Virginia today. I requested we go on a ride as this week was long for me so we ended up close to the NC border. We didn’t cross it but I was hoping we would. Dad promised me we would go to Jack in the Box today it was only about an hour and a half from where we were. I love Jack in the Box. So since he didn’t want to go that far I told him okay well I have to go to at least one auto parts store down here preferably Auto Zone so we found a pretty large Auto Zone and stopped at it. Manager was nice and helpful and they had some nice workers in general. Definitely more of a southern feel there than the ones where I’m at. While I was there picked up more adapters which I can’t seem to stop breaking lol. And an old stock 1 inch 6 point socket in 1/2 drive. Blue stripe drives me crazy as blue should be metric but oh well lol. This one is made in Taiwan like all their stuff used to be. I also got dad some grease for his truck while we were there. That’s the biggest Auto Zone I’ve ever seen or been in. Lots of interesting stuff.

Not sure, thought it was just the one car.
Broke the chrome one on a brake caliper. Couldn’t fit impact in with a stubby socket so used breaker bar this and stubby socket it broke loose about the time the adapter twisted. Both impacts were on the same car yes. Chrome one broke Friday others broke Thursday lol. I really have to get a small stubby impact haha.

For o-rings and small seals I'm going to try to go the route of a dental surgical tool rather than the regular spoon/wide tip pick set. The spoon ends on this dental tool seems smaller/more agile than the pick tools. For $5 I figured I've give it a try.

Made in the UK from German steel. The knurling is a fine texture but provides significant grip.

Stop using adapters! Use 1/2” sockets if you can, or if you have to use 3/8, use it on a long 3/8 ratchet. Which is fine for a few years until this happens and you have a really bad day

Show some mercy. Not much of a selection in the 2000+ sockets I'm sure. He's gotta make due with what he's got.

Meh. Just keep warrantying them . . .

Had to buy these in a pinch. Was at grandmas as she asked me to come change the oil and spark plugs in her mower and sharpen the blades. She sent me all the engine and mower information. Got there well video showed it being a twist off plastic drain plug nope got there and it’s a square drain plug that’s a 7/16 or 11mm. Well of course I grabbed my wrench set that didn’t have an 11mm in it and didn’t bring any 8 or 12 point sockets so off to Auto Zone I went. Was able to get it loose with the 7/16 and tightened it too and gave it the final tighten with the adjustable. It’s in a really tight spot. I’ve never worked on a zero turn mower before. Pain in the tail. I’ve also never seen a mower with two plugs luckily Auto Zone had them in stock because I only purchased one plug as the video didn’t show it having two either and I matched it up same type of mower and engine just not a detailed video I guess. So two new tools to add to the collection. Should have gotten an 11mm wrench instead but I like using SAE over metric. Now I know another tool I need to make sure I have lol. Luckily she literally lives right across the street from Auto Zone, Advance and O’Reilly. I always choose Auto Zone first.

Can’t upload all the pics for some reason. So here is the 7/16 wrench. The adjustable wrench picture won’t upload. 1B15F48E-A013-477D-BE3D-70F31953E5C6.jpeg

I saw in their catalog there is different tier for lifetime and non. I wonder who make their lifetime tools.
Lifetime tools are zebra line, majority are taiwan made. Red line is low cost and all made in china, lubes are liqui moly, adhesives and sealants are 3M/Sika.

I'm like Kelso from That 70s Show... always getting stuff in my eye no matter what safety glasses I'm wearing. Sawdust, flaked off grime, dirt, etc...Worst was a metal shaving that I had my 5 year old daughter retrieve using a magnet.

So I decided to upgrade to safety goggles. Sure I'll look like a **** but if it spares me the day or two of that scratched eyeball feeling, I'm down with it.

Figured for the price I'd get the safety glasses too. And the hard case that fits both perfectly.

Save those eyes for sure! Better to be a member of the Wise Owl Club than to lose an eye!

@BlakeTheCarGuy, the way you blow up sockets and adapters, you may want to order a few sets of these^^^
