Didn’t really need these but I guess I couldn’t help it. I sort of like that these 3/8 sockets have got color to them. So I picked up a 10 piece SAE and metric set while getting some other items at HF with a coupon. $9.99 each or $1 per socket. I think I will put them with a tool kit in the trunk of the car.

New to me, given to me for free. I think it looks pretty nice. Wondering why nobody wants it and I had the chance to get it. It is even made in US.

Nice. Is it strong enough to to use as a step stool? Looks like that was what it was designed for.

Nice, where are you buying all the Proto socket sets from?
I've been getting these from a local distributor here in the Middle East.

I check their price, including the discounts, and compare that with Zoro (including 20% off) and go with whatever's the best value.

The dates on the boxes were 2015-3017, so the distributor here has been sitting on these for a while, perhaps why the price is lower than Zoro...

I misplaced my small magnetic pickup tool, so I bought a new one (a couple of months ago). Wanted the smallest one I could find locally (without driving everywhere), which was this Craftsman at Lowe's.

Ended up not needing it for the original job, but it saved me multiple times yesterday, when I dropped at least three fasteners into the abyss while replacing the engine battery terminals and starter solenoid on my RV....

Yeah, those extendo magnets and the grabber things are toolbox essentials! Not to mention savers of many profanity-laced rants...

Yes! The magnets are a little quicker (I do have a 3-prong retriever), I just wish they had a better solution to keep the sides of them from wanting to stick to metal in tight spaces. I wonder if adding a rubber bushing/stopper would help? Obviously, wouldn't want it too thick to restrict acces..

EDIT: Even with these tools, when I drop a part, but DON'T hear it hit the ground, that's an automatic profanity (at least one will jump out, even if quietly)...

When I hear the part bounce off of multiple components, going deeper and deeper, but STILL not hitting the ground, that gets a rant...

When it takes me more than 5-10 minutes to find and/or retrieve the part, that's when the industrial strength ranting starts, LOL...

My son travels nationwide with a running/mud/obstacle course event, they connect lots of truss/tower assemblies. They use these, and his boss looses his mind over the crew exclusively referencing fastener head size by color.:ROFLMAO:

That’s funny. I can see that. I’m guessing there’s a little bit of a generational gap thing to it, huh?

Picked up some random Wera tools on clearance. The Wera Belt 2 1/4" drive metric hex bit sockets.

And three torx screwdrivers: T25, T20, and T6. No need for the screwdrivers, but in true GJ fashion, they were too good to pass up!

$160 score on FB Marketplace. Everything there and in good shape, even the tray. Also got a set of EZ Red stubby hex bits from a JDTCo grab bag, pretty neat considering I've been wanting them anyway.

Just a couple 1/2"Matco ADV impact sockets to replace a 14mm & 18mm that were starting to get chowdered up. The old ones aren't too far gone yet but I find it doesn't take long with ADVs. They are a LOT softer than my Craftsman impacts which are >10yrs older, been used a lot more, and yet still have like-new looking drive & fastener ends. Perhaps being softer is better for the impact, but not had problems getting a long full life out of any impacts yet. Anywho, what I thought was interesting to post is the 14mm was 'Made in China' and the 18mm 'Made in Taiwan'. Both look similar in most respects except the engraving on the 14mm China one is much larger / deeper. Wonder which one of these will outlast the other?
