The ratcheting mechanism is very sloppy and will reverse directions unless you hold it. You also have to hold the spreader jaws awkwardly until they have tension or else they spin.
There's no perceived quality increase over the cheaper taiwan ones. And in my opinion you're better off with one of the Lisle spreaders.

Thorsen box for 1/2" drive set, because a guy can never have too many tool boxes, right? Also an Indestro 137 3-pc "Handy" ignition wrench set, and an assortment of Indestro "Select" from Don which will help to complete at least two of my "Select sets, and....
a "US" orange-handled tack puller that coincidentally looks like a perfect match to the screwdrivers in that big gray box I got two weeks ago!

I took a deeper look at their website... That "contact form" is absurd and I'm not going to download a social media app just to attempt to buy something either. I don't see just an email address.
I would absolutely say that website is 100% a scam if you didn't post it. I would never buy anything from them if I came across that website any other way.

It has been a while since I have purchased a new tool I was really excited about but this Rockler router table is it!

Do you finish those (paint, stain, etc.) tables? My first thought was those are straight out of the 1950s-60s, but the triangular one could be painted like a guitar pick, and might be sellable to a whole different audience!

My grandfather had a shop in his basement to make false teeth, dentures, crowns, etc. he used motors just like yours to spin up all his different grinding and polishing wheels. Just seeing your pic takes me back 50 years, when I used to watch him making things. Thanks!I suppose this counts. Picked it up over the weekend and repacked the bearings. I believe it's from 1954, based on the tag, and it seems to have led an easy life. Smooth as silk, even more so after freshening up the bearings.
Been looking off and on for a couple years to find one in good shape, so this made my weekend:
My wife, who is awesome, saw this Toughbuilt 24" box level on clearance at Lowe's, $18 marked down from $50, and picked it up for me.
It's a bit on the heavy side but looks extremely durable; I have no doubt it will live up to its name. The vials are LED-lighted and very bright. Nice little design touches, like the battery door; it's attached with screws so it won't pop off when dropped, but the screws are captive in the door so they won't get lost. Clever details like that.

I finished them with Rubio Monocoat pure. I wanted a clear natural matte finish. I love the mid century designs so that tends to be the style I build.

$20 bolt checker kit I lucked into after searching for one several times over a year or two. I've read that the ones on a cable can be hard to use and I didn't like the prices on other ones that appealed to me. This one checks all my boxes.

If I may say so, I love those tables you have made.
The proportions are “spot on” and they have a real “mid century” feel.
If they had a label with some Danish designer on (and a designer price) it wouldn’t be out of place!

I appreciate the feedback. I was seeing a range of $500-1000 each for this type of table online. Helped me justify the extra $500 in tools I spent.
Thank you. Unfortunately, I did not make any drawings. I just made plywood templates. The guitar pick table is 20" Across with 2" radius corners. Legs are 23" tall. The rectangular table is 20 x 14 with 2" radius corners and 23" tall legs. For the sides I just made a large radius that looked right.
Sorry to divert the thread… now back to new tools.

I drove a few blocks to pick up an old saw off a Craigslist ad, and on the way back discovered that there's a tiny independent "Neighborhood Grocery" store only about 8 blocks from my house!
So along with the cinnamon, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk that I needed to get to make pumpkin pies, I found this way cool gizmo. Paid too much for it - I discovered they're only ten bucks on Amazon, but hey, it's a LOCAL business, so what the heck? (Besides, the girls were really cute.)
So ... if you're feeling like a cold Italian pizza and you need a lemon squeeza.... *
(* and no, unfortunately neither of the girls understood the reference to the Monkey Man .... I'm really feeling old now... )
