Santa came early. Couldn't resist the deal.
Wife is happy about not having to set the choke and pull the starter rope anymore. I mow 90% of the time, but sometimes she feels like doing it.
Makita XML08PT1 18V X2 (36V) LXT Lithium‑Ion Brushless Cordless 21" Self Propelled Lawn Mower Kit with 4 Batteries (5.0Ah)
$575 from Amazon. Four 5.0 batteries worth $300+. A double charger I can sell for $50, and a $100 rebate from our village, and maybe get $25 for my old mower next spring

Wow, I see that as $899... Can you post a link to the deal?
I looked and the Amazon Black Friday deal is over. It wasn't actually that great, a fellow GJ member here got the same mower for $298 on clearance at Home Depot. I suspect Makita is switching to the 40V platform for future models, which makes sense.

Just as well. Keeps me from being tempted to switch / mix platforms, LOL...

Low end trigger response was getting fussy. Top end still good.
6+ years of professional use with hundreds of thousands of cycles...
Dropped, kicked, rain, mud, snow, dust, cold, heat/humidity.
$20 later, back in business. Hopefully for a few more years.

Shout out to Quagmire Repair (Lancaster, PA) for the best price I could find and lightning fast shipping.
BTW, here's a cool write up they did on Milwaukee battery engineering if you're into nerdy stuff.

Finally dipped my toes in the Fireball Tool waters. They had a Black Friday deal on the Minion Squares I couldn't pass up. Been wanting to get these for a couple years now. Looks like a top quality product and hopefully the first of more squares from them. Can't wait for the next project

Went with the cast iron with dragon scale coating.

M12 right angle grinder. My wife got it for me for Xmas.
She gave it to me today when she saw I had to keep waiting for my 20 gallon compressor to catch up.

Thanks to @PugetDude for answering my questions when I was considering asking Santa for one of these.

Now you need to switch to Milwaukee markers instead of Sharpies... ;)

Thanks. I already have. Just using a few left overs.
However, I’ve found the sharpie pro markers to be much better than a regular sharpie.

Don’t you just love how fast a std. sharpie dries out in our AZ. heat?

Kokenusa.com 30% off Black Friday on the 2760 and 3760 extensions in foam $160. Not too bad. I already have the wobblefix sets, but just can't come to love the wobble. I like these.

Are you pairing these with Koken sockets/ratchets as well, or different brands? I need new/more extensions but have SO ratchets and CM sockets.

I've used my (new) Ko-ken extensions on my SO ratchets and it has been nice and tight. I don't have SO extensions to compare to, but I'm in love with the Ko-kens. The knurling and the...knobs? at the end make them awesome for hand-spinning.

Nice! Honestly I use my Milwaukee M12 Ratchet the most, and would just like a nice solid interface between the driver, extension, and socket. Nothing more frustrating when having a bolt or nut already loaded into the socket, and trying to fish the bolt into location using the extension and there is so much slop from loose interfaces that it is near impossible to get the bolt started correctly.

I mean I've always seemed to "manage", but that would be my justification for buying koken! Haha

I mostly use them with Koken sockets, but have other brands as well and these straight extensions work great. The Koken wobblefix extensions won't stay straight many times even using Koken sockets. I don't like wobble unless I need it. These straight ones are better for my use at least.

Pawn shop score today! Snap on FHX80BDT and 212YSFSMY that look to be brand new for $220. They had just put them on the shelf this morning so they refused to go lower, but seeing that they retail for $602 and I’ve been needing a set of deep metric sockets I couldn’t turn it down. IMG_7542.jpeg
You stole them!
You should feel guilty.

Great deal.
Enjoy them.

I use my M12 a lot too - but I try to keep myself from letting it take over unless I'm in a hurry.

FWIW - I was in my garage this morning and tried a Ko-ken socket on a couple SO ratchets, a Matco, an Icon and my newly-acquired Ko-ken Z-series ratchet. Loose interfaces were not a problem at all, even on my well-used F80. Predictably enough it was best/tightest on the Ko-ken, followed by the Icon. The SO's and Matco had a little slop, but most of that was mechanism, not tolerance on the anvil. Hope that helps.

OK, let's see what sort of assembly is needed here.

1701533896390.png

I bought the HFT benchtop portable bandsaw stand to try it on my Rockwell portable bandsaw. While the blade fell in the 'right' place, the Rockwell just wasn't going to work in the HFT bandsaw stand. I was going to be buying some $ HFT purchases over the next year, so I decided to 'join the club,' and my purchase of the portable bandsaw stand paid for the Inside Track Club membership. I've already saved the cost of it, again in other subsequent purchases. The two for $17 blades for it are $10 for Inside Track Club members. I bought bi-metal blades in coarse and fine-tooth sizes, saving $14. A feature of the Inside Track Club is, you automatically get the sale pricing if a coupon is required to get the discount, so no-more searching for the coupons on your cellphone at the register while people wait behind you.

The HFT portable bandsaw (11 amp motor) has a 5" X 5" throat, so it should work well. I don't have room for a floor-standing horizontal bandsaw, and I have a stand which I suspect will be perfect for this portable bandsaw stand used in either the horizontal or the vertical position. It's left-over from a Delta DP220 purchase I made at Habitat for Humanity years ago. I sold the 'pillar drill,' and kept the stand, and now, I have the perfect use for it.

OK, I set it up, I had to fuss with it to make it cut properly. However see the 1 x 2" in a square to check the cut. The square is > 50 years old, I bought it new.

Do these count as "tools?" I don't know, but they're extremely helpful (and the set of 8 was only $8 at HD)...

Labeled a bunch of plumbing valves in the basement. Had to cut up a cereal box, as the tags were pre-printed on both sides with "Name, Address, etc."

EDIT: (...because I didn't think about printing labels in Word until I just posted these pics, LOL...)

I have been using a pneumatic chamfer tool for a while now, but decided to get the mounting plate from Swag Offroad during their sale last week. I added both the ball valve under the table and a foot pedal for it.

Here is a piece of 1/4” x 2” aluminum I used as a sample cut.

I think I am going to like it.

Picked up a bag of random stuff yesterday. There was more in the bag, but it wasn’t worth putting in the pic. Some of it I’ll never use, but the stuff I did want was worth more than I paid.

Snap on 15mm deep socket, 3/8 universal joint, and 1.5” extension
Cornwell locking extensions and 3/8” impact wobble adapter
Mac 1/4” wobble adapter
Blue point filter wrenches and e18 socket
Matco 1/4” 88 ratchet that evidently doubles as a hammer or a chew toy. Need to see about getting the handle replaced or just continue using it as a hammer.
