A810EB4A-418D-47AF-B5B0-E82723487C95.pngWent to Harbor Freight to check out the last of the Black Friday deals. Walked away with more than I’d planned lol. I did get my coworker a Christmas present though he is just starting out and always takes me to lunch and is saving for a new car so I got him a nice sturdy tool bag/tote type thing. A set of chrome metric deep Pittsburgh Pro sockets and a magnetic tray and small knife like I have here. Forgot to take a picture before I put it in my car though lol. The rest of this is for me with the exception of the gift card which is for my secret Santa recipient on here. These new green gloves that are 5 mil are supposed to be better than the cheap blue ones they have. The blue were good until a few years ago when they cheapened them. These green ones are supposed to be better at least according to what it says and what the reviews say. The blue gloves I have to admit I paid the $2 for because they look awesome lol. Needed a new set of work gloves and who can pass up a .97 cent bottle opener? Not me I need a fancy bottle opener lol. They completely redone my Harbor Freight location. Now they have a code for the bathroom too and moved everything around inside lol. It was fine how it was.

Thanks, I was all black and yellow until now. The yellow battery on the ratchet was waaay too big.
The battery on Dewalt's 12v ratchet is not too big. It's about the same size as Milwaukee's 12v. It's not anywhere near as big as their 20V batteries.

Here's a 1.5ah Milwaukee M12 shown with a Dewalt 2ah 12V, a 3ah 20V, a 6ah 20V, and a 9ah 60V battery.
Dewalt and Milwaukee Cordless Batteries.jpg

I like my Milwaukee and my Dewalt cordless ratchets, but have to say the Dewalts are better in several regards. The Milwaukees don't see near as much use any more. The Dewalt's trigger is a lot better, more comfortable and more control. The selector is easy to switch even with oily/greasy gloved hands. The Milwaukees sure aren't. The socket is a lot easier to get off of the Dewalt by hand and almost always have to get a small screwdriver for any of the Milwaukees. The Dewalts are much stronger ft lbs yet don't have near the same finger-smashing jerk when you hit full-stop. The Milwaukee's anvil assemblies are more fragile. I've had to replace several now, and no such issues yet with the Dewalts. ...

I just didn’t like the awkwardly wide battery at the base.IMG_0113.jpeg

So my wife suprised me. She saw all the 20v Dewalt tool purchases I’ve made as of late. And told me she wanted a jigsaw for X-Mas. So I had an idea, if I order the black friday Home Depot 4 & 6 ah battery kit, I get a free tool.

Expanding my Dewalt 20v battery line up, and getting additional points with the wife. Feel like I unlocked some sort of achievement medal. Winning, rofl.

I broke down and upgraded air hammers. Snap on PH3050B in blue. Truck finally had some in stock and I picked one up and laid it back down because I need a really good one a few times a year but not every day or even every month. My dealer said let me make you a deal and I feel like he did so I bought it.air hammer.jpg

A week before Black Friday, ZORO emailed me a coupon code for 20% off, and I used it on some Koken tools.
A 1/2" drive socket, and some 1/4" drive extensions in 100, 150, 200, and 250mm lengths. All for $58 plus tax. They were drop shipped from Koken-USA one day after ordering. If I had waited for the BF 30% off sale at Koken-USA and placed my order there, my order would have cost about $4.50 more.

I have one of these and I'm a home user; I bought mine ~10 years ago on Ebay, new, well below list price. Yes, they are crazy expensive, but even with its age, it is somehow still one of the overall best, if not best, guns on the market if you value trigger control, and all out power in one gun; and don't include price. I don't use mine that often, and I'm overall gentle on my tools; I'm not tossing something like this on the floor, so mine still looks new; I'd be surprised if I couldn't sell mine for what I paid for it. Of course, I don't know what I paid for it, but somewhere around $300-325 rings a bell. It was very painful at the time, but this was before the flood of long barrel import guns.

Is the blue portion powder coated? Plastic coated? Mine is just polished, and I put the red boot on it

Went into Lowe's today. While there I spied these ToughBuilt pouches. I'm not a fan of tool belts or pouches in general as they can be bulky and uncomfortable when sitting, for example. But I thought these looked like a good idea. Took home the "Utility Knife" pouch. No matter what I'm doing around the house I carry three tools with me everyday. Tape measure, pencil, utility knife. I usually keep them in my pockets but I thought this pouch might be a better solution. Plus, I can easily unclip it if I'm crawling in an attic or something like that. And at the end of the day simply unclip it and leave it on the bench so in the morning I'm not hunting down where I left anything. It's all there in the pouch. We'll see if it lives up to expectations . . .

Looks to be powder coated. I am going to get the rubber boot.

Tracked down the snap on truck today and got some stuff I haven’t had luck finding secondhand locally. Since I’m mainly working on our Toyota/Lexus vehicles I needed 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 17mm deep sockets to go along with the 14 and 19 I found. I have the FDX set, but wanted the regular flank drive as well. I’ll complete the set over time. Picked up some smaller snap ring pliers since the ones I got before were way too big. IMG_7617.jpeg
